Very good movie. The developement of the plot was excellent and the ending is... very human (in terms of reactions, in any case) I loved it both from a visual and thematic point of view. Go see it: there will be no regrets.

I don't see how anyone could say anything bad about this film. Even if you completely didn't agree with it, found it disturbing, or anything that it no excuse to insult the acting or the script. This one stands out and shines. The originality of the concept is enough. The acting was unbelievable. Paul Rudd and Rachel Weisz... not often do the two main actors portray a character as thoroughly and evenly as these two. The body language, facial expressions... they were the characters for the whole movie. No glitches. Does art leave room for ethics and morals? Find out for yourself.

The Shape of Things was originally written as a play, and this really shows. I regret not seeing it when CanStage produced it last year in Toronto, since I suspect as a stage production this piece would probably be even more poignant. In particular, at the climax of the story, the setting is a presentation hall, in which Evelyn, the self-proclaimed artist and love interst of Adam, gives a lecture describing her "work of art". In a movie theatre, the experience of watching this lecture is somewhat detached: You are the movie-goer watching Evelyn lecture not to you, but rather to the other actors who are in the presentation hall in the film. On the other hand, in a stage production, the lecture can be given directly to you, the audience. Labute tries to achieve this effect with his camera work, and does an admirable job, but unfortunately the film medium has its limits. Overall this is an excellent movie. If you enjoyed any of Labute's other work (In the Company of Men, Your Friends and Neighbours) , you are guaranteed to like this one. Go see it, you won't be disappointed.

This movie was both poorly acted and badly written. Save both your money and your time by renting Chasing Amy, directed by Kevin Smith. Rachel Weisz, however, still looked quite stunning..

Like nothing I've ever seen on screen. Better to go see it without any idea what it's about.
