A great movie, I just have one question, how does Nick ensure that he's on for jury duty at the beginning of the movie.

This is a great thriller, every minute of the movie makes you wonder what will happen next. The story is smart, the whole idea of the movie is great... it made me wanna start reading John Grisham... And also, I like the fact that there is no big action scenes with cars exploding or other things that never happen in real life... the whole movie is very realistic, even the relationship between the characters are.

I think the movie a masterpiece, the story line is great the script is well written and the whole story is pretty twisted really! I don't know y people say that they should've stuck with the original book's case, I mean about the tobacco thing, I think Hollywood has alread dealed with that case before remember "The Insider" Al Pacino & Russell Crowe" It was a great movie back then and this one is great, the actors performances is great especially "Dustin Hoffman" he's a great attorney, as for Gene Hackman he's alright, I think he did that kinda performance before like in "The Firm" with Tom Cruise" and John Cusack was awesome as ever he seemed calm the whole movie although he had a lot going on his mind that's what made his performance really special I guess. Rachel Weisz was a great blackmailer she's a great actress and the rest of the cast were great inculding the Jugde I don't know his name actually. But all in all I think it's an enjoyable movie full of events and great morals, and also it makes u know what's going on behind the scenes of the juries.

I read the book first. Then saw the movie, and I was disappointed that they changed the main story line. The case was originally about the cigarette companies, not guns. Tho everything else was almost the same, the people, the jury consultants etc, it just wasnt the same. The movie was still good, but... I reccomend you read the book. Its far better, and very descriptive as if you were watching a movie.

I honestly don't understand the bad ratings on this movie! It is really good~ The movie name kinda sucks, but since there's no other more interesting movies around, I rented it and I"ve never even watch any of its previews or reviews. It keeps you at the edge of your seat all the time. And unlike some other suspence movies, after all the twist and turns and give you a crappy ending that makes no sense (like Mission Impossible), this one has a very nice ending that wraps up everything.

Bah, it's such a made for TV movie. Incredible waste. While the ideas behind it were interesting, they weren't developed nearly enough. I didn't like Gene Hackman as the stereotypical bad Guy. I would have enjoyed myself much more had I watched this when I was 14.

I saw this movie because I loved the book. Although I found the movie to be extremely entertaining, I didn't think it did the book a full justice. There was some wonderful directing by Gary Fleder, and some truly inspiring performances were seen by John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Rachel Weisz, and Dustin Hoffman. Truly a masterpiece, but if you're planning to read the book as well as seeing the movie, then I suggest seeing the movie first, or else you will be disappointed in the movie.

Im 18 and I am reading the book in Business Law, its kind of hard to read so much, since Im not really a reader, as well as everybody else in my class. It was an ok book, especially if youre into all those court cases etc.

Very good film especially if you enjoy court movies. Hackman steals the film especially in the bathrooms cene with Hoffman. Cusack is fantastic as usual. Very enjoyable.

I had read the book and loved it. I though the movie would be equally interesting. Unfourtunetly, the movie had NOTHING to do with the book. The book is based upon a tabaco lawsuit, and there were small pokes made at the industry duing the book; while these small pokes were carried over they had nothing to do with the "new" lawsuit. Overall I found the movie a disapointment if you've read the book.

Having seen many movies of the about law, this one really tops them all. The cast was absolutely wonderful, the story very intricate but understandable and very interesting. It was close enough to reality for us to jump right into the movie and get caught in the story. Gene Hackman is real 'good' as a 'bad boy' This film is a MUST!!

I loved Runaway Jury. It cleverly captured the work of John Grisham and kept you in suspence throughout the whole movie. It had a nice twist at the end which was unexpected and one the whole it was amazing. The acting was excellent and I highly recomend it for any John Grisham fan or anyone interested in stories about lawyers.

I just absolutely loved Runaway Jury, although I came into the theatre thinking it was going to be a typical boring law type movie. And I was mighty surprised at how good it turned out to be. Gene Hackman did some very fantastic acting, I would say superior to Dustin Hoffman's. In jury selection, I found it difficult to believe that something so sophisticated in the back was gonig on behind the scenes, with the technology room and so on. Who was the starring actor, well whoever he was I remember some good acting done by him and I just kept noticing through the movie that he was constantly wearing black eyeliner and it sure made him look sexy.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Just in the begining of the movie, during a scene in the Hackman character's headquarters, we see that among the information they have on one of the jurists is a full body x-ray! That turned me off immediately, I don't like when movie makers feel the need to exagerate so much, their thinking being that we the audience won't understand anything unless it's nailed into our heads, Terminator style. Unbelievable movie and too goody-goody as well.

This movie confronts the problems in today's society with the right 'to bear arms'. It's a very powerful and moving film. Gene Hackman & Dustin Hoffman are perfect for these roles. John Cusack is awesome in the movie too. Don't miss it!

I saw Runaway Jury over the weekend, and was somewhat disappointed. The movie was quite slow in the beginning and couldn't really keep my attention. It did have some unique twists throughout the duration of the movie, but not enought to score high in my book. I must say, I did leave the film questioning how often jury tampering does occur! Makes you wonder.

Story line is so well fabricated, the movie keeps you longing to find out more. A pretty good idea of how you can work around the system to make new laws. It teaches us to constructively act about our emotions, not just surrender.

It was allright. Not something I normally would have gone to the movies for, it's more rental material. There's no real benefit to seeing it on the big screen as compared to seeing it at home on your television.

I am surprised at the high ratings given to this movie, perhaps the persons didn't understand what the ratings mean: 10 - Masterpiece/ 9- Excellent movie, a must see/ 8- Great movie, don't miss it/ and 7- Good movie, worth seeing. Using those rating, I would give Runaway Jury an honest 6.5. Hackman's acting stole the show but I wasn't naive enough to find the plot fascinating. In our immediate vicinity, one person yawned frequently. Three elderly persons sitting in front of us found chatting with each other more interesting than the movie. A couple behind us had difficulty not discussing the movie plus another couple were more interested in using their cell phone. I think to properly enjoy this movie one must be a Grisham fan - if you saw the previews, you won't be surprised by the movie.

A great film. John Cusack is awesome, along with the rest of the cast. This was the better than all the other Grisham films - including The Firm. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't feel like seeing a comedy or violent film.

In all honesty I thought that this movie was poorly written. The acting was great and the consept was great, but it could have been written a lot better. It was slow, repetative, and it lost your attention. You were always expecting something to happen, but you were always let down. If you're out of movies to see, this one isn't bad, but I wouldn't recamend it in theatres. Wait for it out on video!
