This movie could have been much better. Whenever a movie comes with an alternate ending you have to wonder how strong the overall story really is. The moments of black humor were well done. The depiction of the angels and demons was understated wich I liked. However, the different demons that came to attack John C. Were a little to action filled, I would have liked to have seen the lead up to their battles filled with a atmosphere of dread, creepiness and a real feeling of mortal danger. I guess a loyal reader of the comic does not require a lot of background provided for the characters in the movie, but I have never read any of the books so I would have liked some help understanding more fully the motivations and history of John and his allies.
