Didn't care for the first one, but this one appeals more to the female horror fans, great flic, for the ladies, not a sick but sticks to the roots of the first.

An excellent movie, I missed going to see Hostel as I was away, bought the dvd then when I saw Hostel 2 was on I couldn't wait to see it, wasn't disappointed at all. Waiting to buy it on dvd as well. Loved the twist of fate to lol. Go see it if you are a true horror, blood and guts fan. Waiting for Hostel 3 to come out.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
Offering up more of the familiar sadism and gore, Hostel :Part II will surely thrill horror fans. Take away that blood and gore, however, and there's nothing left. My biggest problem with this one is that the movie is almost completely void of suspense, which wasn't the case with the first Hostel, a pretty darn scary and very creepy movie. I saw this one twice and I was sad that the most graphic stomach-turning shot was removed from the final theatrical version. It was the most graphic castration shot I've ever seen and it made me squirm something fierce. But it isn't in the final version :( The 'vampire' literal blood bath scene is worth the price of admission on its own.

I found the first one to be better, only because it was alot less gory. Now I understand why this one was rated an 18+.. although the 1st one was as well, this one really defined the 18+ rating lol. In my opinion I think the 1st should have only been a 16+. Besides that, this movie was good, but way too disgusting. I actually felt kinda weird at parts, and I have a very strong stomach for movies like this.

Although the Gore factor is there in hostel, it is still only second to Saw!!! I Liked the whole twist in the middle of the movie, but it did not have the wow factor that Jigsaw does. It was a well done movie, and I think the sequel was good, but the original hostel brought a whole new idea to the table that this movie couldn't. I truly believe that there should be no more sequels to the Hostel series because this second part wasn't bad, but wasn't special at the same time. In short, Saw is going to ruin its name by continually making sequels, and if Eli Roth doesn't want to ruin it, he should simply stop while he can. I mean already, just look at the box office numbers from the first hostel compared to the second one!

Eli Roth approached 'Hostel II' with the notion of "If I were going to see this movie as a fan, what would I love to see? " and he succeeded... GO SEE THIS MOVIE NOwww! Never mind the comments about "It's too gory... Bla bla bla..." truth is, real life is way worse... ENJOY!

Well, each time I go to a horror movie, I ask myself: "why? ", but go anyways. They made the movie seem pretty realistic. I kind of could tell what would be the end like right from the start. I was really thrilled with the ending. Why did I go anyways? Remind me?

Not very good. Not suspenseful or scary. Just some parts are really gross and pointless. Please do not go and see this movie.
