WOW... I usually can take or leave action-adventure flics that present a sustained and boring assault on the nervous system every four minutes, but this film was a real breakthrough in technique. Beautifully underwritten, no excessive dialogue. The only awkward moments came from the bucolic Albert Finney who should really be let out to pasture. Matt Damon is frenetic, David Strathairn is suitably dastardly and Joan Allen does a great job as the steely conscience of the CIA. Fascinating use of the hand-held camera to give the film a great feeling of pace and uneasiness. Best action film I've seen in years. I hope there is a fourth in the series.
