I really enjoyed 'Waitress'. It's a funny, quirky, happy-sad treat, just like the wild pies Jenna the pie-genius bakes. The back story of the tragic murder of Adrienne Shelly (writer, director, co-star) gives the film great poignancy. I had a tear in the eye when Jenna sang the Pie Lullaby to little Sophie Ostry, Adrienne's daughter in the last scenes. This film is her final work and her husband started a Foundation to support female film makers in her memory. Bravo.
