Refreshing! A step aside from the mainstream hollywood blather that is out there these days. Although hard to follow at times, I found myself always wondering where the storyline was headed. Some stories were sad, some were happy, some made you really think about first impressions. All in all I would recommend this film to those who enjoy international films. The majority of the film is in french so if you despise subtitles this is not the film for you.

DVD: "Paris Je T'aime"
If you've ever been to Paris, then this is a great piece of nostalgia. If you've never been, then this is a great overview. There's a little for everyone: comedy, drama, romance, and even some sci-fi/fantasy! Paris, je t'aime!

I expected something different. This is nothing but a very north american stereotyping movie of France and french people. When I am going to see a movie about France from a french perspective?

This movie should have been called "Paris, je te déteste" (Paris, I hate you) I would not have then criticize it. This movie does not depict the beauty of Paris, its romantic life, its luxury, the history, the joy of living and the reason why everybody loves Paris... Instead, the stories depict sadness, fear, misery and pain. Too bad the movie missed a beautiful idea.

We had the feeling we are seeing a collection of screen tests for a directing school project. Pretty disappointing.

Someone said: "there are a few bright lights scattered in among the 18 stories, but there are far too many pieces of bad work by untalented directors to make this worth sitting through" Absolutely right, so many amazing actors, with interesting stories, it has to be the director fault if this movie is a flop.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe. I thought it was s***. It was pretentious, ridiculous and just really crappy. There were some bareable moments like the nanny bit and the first one in the car with that man helping the woman. Particularly bad were the Elijah Wood vampire mess, the bit about the mom mourning her dead child, the wes craven graveyard poo poo piece and the weird manicurist vinette. It definitely did not do the city or its' inhalants justice. Paris is such a wonderful place, unlike any other place in the world. With its' abundance of artists and places that would capture the magnificence of this magical place, the chosen directors and story lines failed miserably at capturing that magic. Try picking directors that have good taste.

Yes, there are a few bright lights scattered in among the 18 stories, but there are far too many pieces of bad work by untalented directors to make this worth sitting through.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I found it interesting how many scenes were of Paris at night, and if it was not night it was in the subway, I mean metro, or a car, or maybe a park, or rather a cemetery. Some very humourous vinettes. Bonding over 20 year old shoes. Some real silly - like the vampire one. Opps, don't want to give too much away. The Cohen brothers do their thing with Steve B. In the underground. Oscar Wilde ghost gives love advice -that piece wasn't bad and truly Tom Twler would win my prize with the blind lover who 'sees' his chere. There was a particularly poignant one with a young mother rising at dawn to drop her infant off at a crib warehouse softly sings a sweet song to send her wee babe off to sleep while she spends the next forever getting to where she's going. Work. Where she minds someone elses small baby to whom she sings the same song though less sweetly. At one point I thought I was watching the English Patient... Twenty short films in one. I'll probably need to watch it again and again.

Great to have "seen" Paris through the eyes of the actors. Not to be missed!

This is a great movie. Yes, there are a bit too many stories that must be shorter to fit in the time available, and yes, I would prefer less stories a bit longer, but most if not all the stories are really good, different directors gave a very original view of Paris. My favorite story by far is that of the mime artists!!!

As I expected, there was no story line. It was like a collection of really nice pieces of stories. Each story had an exceptionally good flow and acting.

Fantastic, moving cinema. A brilliant effort on each director's part, each enhanced by its juxtaposition with the other stories. It blows my mind how much you can accomplish in so little time; each film is a masterwork in its own right. Special significance for those with a fondness for the city. I don't understand these comments about no cohesion. It's called "Paris", kids.

Made by a great number of talented actors and directors this movie is an example of a very fruitful collaboration. Short and vivid stories in the movie leave an impression of a walk in this great city. Definitely a must see!

Absolutely delightful! This movie is truly an incredible experience. For those who are dissapointed in the absence of a constant storyline, don't be silly. "Paris, je t'aime" gives such a sense of what Paris is, and though one can only get glimpses of it through the 18 different stories which comprise the film, the feeling it evokes describes the city perfectly. A fascinating project by 18 incredible directors, this movie has left me awe-struck. Please, treat yourself to something special, go see this film.

It's not very often that a movie can 'get to you' so wholly that it makes you laugh out loud, weep, feel suitably chastised for making assumptions and triumphant for feeling hopeful. I couldn't tell you which vignette I was most drawn to... Only that I came away wanting more of every character.

For anyone who is able to accept people as they are... Love in spite of not because of... This movie will touch you... The true meaning of love is the common theme... Set against the wonderful backdrop of Paris... I lost myself for a while...

18 short stories in 120 minutes! It's almost too much to handle but the movie all glues together with a love theme. Payne's film alone, 14ieme arrondissement, is worth the price of admission. There were 5-6 of the 18 stories that are great. 3 of which are completely magical (the one mentioned above, Place des Fetes, and Bastille) Seeing this movie is definitely worth the trip to the theatres.

I've seen this movie twice now and it is has not diminished one iota since I saw it last. Please don't come out of this movie and say you liked this one better than that one etc... Just go in and let the mood and atmosphere of every single short simply wash over you. Everyone will have their preferences, but, in my mind, every single director knows how to tell a story (some more creatively than others) It's got everything you could ask for, comedy, drama, romance, horror, tragedy and even a little surrealism. Each short needs to be viewed individually and on it's own terms. That being said, I thought that the last short, directed by Alexander Payne, totally captures the joy and the sadness of Paris and was the perfect way to end the film. It was highly enjoyable.

This started out to be just an ok movie and if it ended after about an hour and a half I would have left just thinking that. Instead it got much worse to the point where I wished I hadn't gone at all. Juliet B must have been in need of some quick cash to play about a 10min part in such a bad movie. She's a fabulous actress but don't go to this to just see her, rent of her older ones instead.

I think we were expecting a little more out of this film , yes entertaining but most of the 18 shorts end a little too fast I thought. I really liked only about 6 out of the lot. (the acting was very good though) Even though we know Paris's "quartiers" pretty well , it doesn't make us enjoy the movie any more. I prefered Avenue Montaigue (fauteuils d'orchestre)which is presently playing in Vancouver.

Definitely a film worth seeing, especially if you have any sort of connection to Paris. Collection of histories, each with its own charm, many touching, some funny.

The film is built around a series of short stories who's only connection are that they happen in Paris and their theme is love. Each attempts to evoke a different emotion - one of the stories made my girlfriend cry. A refreshing change of pace from a 2 hour story arc that you can figure out before the second act.

Loved the fact that there were many acclaimed people attached to this movie, but the stories didn't mesh/come together in the end. Some stories were well done while others were plan bad. Could have tired it together better, wouldn't see again, unless I didn't have to pay.

Funny and sad, sublime and ridiculous, inspiring and mundane - an interesting collage of stories with the city of lights as the backdrop.

Lacks any unity aside from a ploy to make you "fall in love" with the city of Paris. While the individual vignettes are corny, predictable and unrelated, you never do (fall in love, that is) Skip this and go see "The Lives of Others" instead.
