A beautiful and complex film enlightening contemporary audiences about a fascinating little chapter in English history that had a profound and far-reaching impact on the world. Natalie Portman is exquisite, Eric Bana wonderful, and the rest of the ensemble cast very good indeed. Costumes, sets, and cinematography were lovely and intricate. A high calibre film overall, but emotionally difficult, owing to the masses of intense turmoil the characters experience.
