I am not a science fiction space movie kind of fan at all. But remembering the TV version and now seeing this one made me think twice. This is probably the best Star Trek film ever made. Ironically WS was not in it. I liked how they used Leonard Nemoy. Brilliant! All of the actors played their characters in the pre-Star Trek mode amazingly. I enjoyed all of them. Of course Young Kirk and Spock shone the brightest. I will see this again. I can't believe I just typed that. Now let's all go and discover the unknown in this vast galaxy of ours. NYUK, NYUK, NYUK. Check out the Three Stooges In Orbit from 1961 for a laugh!
