User's review

Wonderful, moving film, but not sentimental. Intricate, personal narrative with some amazing performances. One reviewer had it right comparing it to Babel, with less emphasis on screenplay virtuosity and more detail on a few remarkable characters. Rich examination of cultural interplay between Germany and its large population of Turkish immigrants "imported" after the war, with lots of scenes in Istanbul. Recommended.
