An incredible realistic insight into the Vietnam war. Kubrick delivers a phenomenal epic tale portraing a soldier's mindset and duty to his country's honor. A true classic!

Full Metal Jacket is a movie like no other, it really emphasises the "war is hell" feeling that many movies fail to get right. Very well done particually the choice to have a realy army drill instructor for the role rather than an actor. Great film.

Really good movie. Amazing dialogue, excellent acting and many shocking scenes. The movie is more about making a point and conveying Kuprick's philosophy more than anything else. There are deep meanings to be considered, but don't expect a well developed narrative with twists ands turns. The real story is one that's found underneath.

I give the first half of this film a 10, but after the private kills himself in the bathroom, it became an ordinary war movie. The best depictions of vietnam war is still Platoon and Deer Hunter.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I think that this movie was ok but it really went too fast after Fat body shot the drill sarge. It really didn't have a story line and I don't know what people are talkin about when they say best movie ever made. Much rather prefer Apocalypse Now or Saving Private Ryan.

Full metal jacket is one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life I loved it. I kind of felt bad for private pyle though but that was just one of many scenes to add to the final scene of boot camp.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] "Full Metal Jacket" shows a world so overflowing with beastly hatred that it is heartbreaking. First of all it offers the spectacle of the destruction of young and innocent initiated into a universe of brutal horror killing them body and soul. Then these soulless zombies, clad as Marines (in "full metal jacket") , wander in the distant land of Vietnam, that now has the infected image of polluted Paradise, formerly an exotic dream like America itself once upon a time. The final disaster is Private Joker's complete demonic conversion, when he murders his last existing human identity by killing the young woman Vietnamese guerrilla soldier.

One of the best Vietnam War movies I've ever seen (aside from Platoon of course) Probably in my top 5 favourite war films. Amazing movie (acting, directing, script, realism)
