Seen this twice, once in Ireland and again in Calgary, and I would watch it over and over again. Brilliant acting with true Irish (Dublin) character.

Can't decide what degree of bad this movie is... This this the second movie I have seen where I should have walked out off, Gangs of New York was the first, still regret not walking out of that one too!

Crassness and Vulgarities put aside, this smart, funny, violent and real dark comedy isn't for the light hearted. Farrell carries the character incredibly well and I would say it's his best performance to date. Brilliant comedic timing. It's balanced. Don't see if you are : a little person (dwarf) and/or Belgian.

Funny dark comedy - not always politically correct.

I'm a big fan of darker comedy, and was skeptical about this movie's potential before going. I'm not usually impressed by Colin Farrel. What a great surprise! Hilarious script, great characters, well acted, and a few unexpected twists and turns. My bf and I thought it was great, and its definitely the best movie I've seen in theatres for a long time.

I didn't know what this movie would be about, but was pleasantly surprised at the mix of comedy, drama and suspense. A little bit bloody at times, but otherwise fantastic!

Pretty good entertainment, with a decent plot, good acting, and a pronounced lack of idiotic American actors like Tom Cruise, Nicholas Cage, et al. Always interesting to see a movie filmed in a foreign country. Yes, the world outside Hollywood formula stuff does exist. Sure wish the movie people would cut all the commercials and dumb trailers at the start of the movie though. It's such a turnoff that I am staying home with DVDs more and more. Also, can somebody please deep-six that obnoxious milk commercial?

Mostly enjoyable, I found it a bit slow at times and actually nodded off in the middle. I would wait for the dvd.

If you're not interested in an intelligent and funny movie then "In Bruges" is not for you: Though ultimately this is a film about honour, it's filled with often wry and caricatural though pointed observations on a wide range of topics from Americans and Americana (bad) to Spurs football club (somewhere between bad and good) to Canadians (good) I enjoyed it both times at the Queensway!

Black comedy? Who grades this stuff? A dark, black piece with a few light moments. Pretty much a disturbing commentary about violence and those who "indulge"... I'm not a Colin Farrell fan, but he was excellent... in fact all the acting was fantastic. A very moody piece with a lot of graphic violence.

A little bit of everything in this movie. Beautiful scenery, quirky characters, competent to great acting, laugh out loud humour, thought provoking drama, disturbing pathos, some action... very, very, entertaining!! Highly recommended!

This movie was very well done. I am not a fan of movie genres such as this one, but for a movie like this, it was very good. I might have enjoyed it more had I known how it ended. It has an ending that leaves you wondering what happens to Farrell's character... does he die? Or survive?

Absolutely amazing. Colin Farrell was amazing, extremely funny and also dramatic. Well rounded film, comedy, action, drama. Cinematography was also great. Definitely a must see.

I greatly enjoyed the movie, some good comedy, good action and a little bit of suspense. Not to mention even though Bruges was meant to be depicted as perhaps a hell for Ray, I thought it to be very visually appealing.

Great movie. Lots of swearing and violence, but great cinematograpy, great sound editing, great casting, great location. A fairly simple plot that keeps you guessing right 'till the end.

Excellent movie and very funny too, though avoid if you are easily offended by humour that is not politically correct (or are a native of Belgium!) I think there were a lot of nervous laughs at some of the humour. The audience applauded at the end of the film, and rightly so; in fact, I cannot remember the last time I witnessed that at a cinema. Go see it!

You will laugh your socks off. You will also really feel for the characters. Very well made film. A dark comedy. If you don't find it funny then you need to visit the UK for a couple of months!

While I did enjoy the acting and there were a few laughs, I had enough of the movie after the first hour. It could have been so much more. The final scrip was just too long and really really out of anything that resembles good story telling. Perhaps if you fast forward over the slow bits, it gets a good go near the merciful end.

I had no idea what to expect going into this. It was great. A little slow getting going, but as it all came together it was just great. Not a typical Hollywood flick. If you want a mindless bang band shooter flick, this is not it. Don't get me wrong, Rambo was fantastic too, but this is a little more intelligent. Acting was real good. Dialogue was refreshingly good. Definitely worth seeing. Note: The trailer is misleading. And so is the tag line "shoot first sight see later." In reality the sightseeing was first, and the action saved for the end. Not quite as action packed as it looks in the trailer. But a really great film. Highly recommended!!

Funny, great politically incorrect humour that gets a good laugh outta the crowd, but still has some story line and sad parts to it. Won't spoil it for you, worth seeing when its raining out for sure.

I was very disappointed with this movie. The trailer made it look like it was a comedy. Nothing was funny in this movie. Comedy is certainly not Colin Farrell's forte. A rental movie at best.

It was certainly slow at times and the jokes didn't always hit the Mark, but overall a very fun and interesting movie. I saw it about a week ago and some of the scenes keep popping into my mind, which I expect will be happening a long time from now. A very unique and fun movie. :)

It's a very good movie, unexpected, filled with good European and black humour. Quite tough at the end but worth seeing. You have to love European cinematography in order to enjoy "In Bruges".

This is not a good movie at all. The ending was the only good part about it. Poor, very poor acting. This movie drags on forever you may want to skip this one.

Excellent film for people with an appreciation for wit and the art of dramatic construction. This is a REAL black comedy and should be given credit for it's honesty.

Characters well developed. Cynical humor aplenty. Straightforward, no detour. Bruges rocks...

I am most likely biaised, being from Belgium (Ghent) I quickly grew tired of the stupid [...] Bruges and the audience laughing, probably not even knowing where Bruges is, or Belgium for that matter. Bruges is a wonderful medieval city. And Colin Farrel's overacting was really tiresome. At least, the movie showcased Bruges. Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes were great, however.

Set in Bruges (obviously! Lol!) this movie centers around the characters of Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleesen as two Irish hitmen hiding out in the city after a botched murder in Dublin. This is a great black comedy, although quite violent and shocking in parts, and in my opinion Colin Farrell's best role to date. Although he has murdered a person, you still feel sorry for Farrell's character as he shows genuine remorse for what he has done. Seriously recommend going to watch this movie and I was surprised there wasn't more people in the auditorium.
