Everyone should see this movie at least once. Or a movie similar to this one. This movie could give seminars to other movies on how an ending should go. This isn't one of my all time favorites, but I have a feeling this is one of those movies that will remain great over a long period of time.

When it comes to musicals but action in the middle which spoils the whole thing gives the fame in this film. This really put everyone in good humour although the bar was a reck when family jumps in the middle to find out what is happened.

If anyone gave this movie anything below a 10 or 9, your on insane. This is my all time favorite movie. If you have not seen it go rent it. The only reason I rented it was because there was nothing else to rent at the store. But I'm soo happy I did! I bought it afterwards! I will never ever ever get sick of this movie! EVER!

This movie is my absolut favorite. I don't know what it is but there is something about Cameron Crowe that allows him to reach down and bring out the best of everyone of his actors. Describing all the things that I love about this film would be too long. I agree that this movie might be one of those flicks that are meant for a particular type of audience but I just happen to be the right audience for this one. Loved it and always will.

This is a fair account of the life of an aspiring real-life journalist. It could get boring for those who really don't get the movie. It does build an interesting portrait o f the character and lacks the Hollywood formula that can always ruin an otherwise good movie. With more careful editing, this film could have been a minor classic.

I thought Kate Hudson was great in this movie. I don't really know how true it all is in the behind scenes of a rock star groupie. However it was a very good movie..

In this movie I got to see the behind the scenes of rock stars, groupies and journalists. Although I heard Sarah Polley was supposed to take the lead, Kate Hudson did a remarkable job! What I find most intersesting was that it had some truth to Cameron Crowes own Life.

I love this movie... I think everyone should watch this film and appreciate the amazing script, casting, cinemetography and music. However, IF you feel it necessary to judge a movie solely by the looks of the actors, go and watch one of those flaky teen flicks and stop trashing art.

*ahh, the 70's* I always feel a little like playing the guitar around the fire afterwards... Ps- if you know the movie well, see the directors cut, it's interesting to spot the extra scenes (which I think they shouldn't have taken out, but hey..)

This is my favourite film ever. Crowe always produces great soundtracks to his films, but this one absolutely blew me away! First time I saw it at the cinema, I cried because it was so good. Now that it is out on DVD expecially as 'Untitled' it is still magnificent. Plus, how hot is Jason Lee? The scene where they have come out of the plane and they are all walking down the corridor, he is so pretty that I could cry. Dammit I want to have been 18 in 1973!

This is a very entertaining film. The casting was perfect. You feel you are on the road with the band watching the outcome of some interesting interactions between the players. Worth seeing on DVD. Glad I didn't pay full pop at the theatre. No academy award nominations here. Just a light fun film.

Finally, a movie worth the full price of a ticket! Almost Famous is the story of an aspiring rock journalist who goes on tour with a band in the 1970's. If it sounds familiar, it's probably because the story is hardly new. There have been dozens of movies made about the rock and roll lifestyle: the drugs, the sex, the fights, and all the bumps on the road to success. So what sets Almost Famous apart? The acting, for one. Frances McDormand was brilliant as William's (newcomer Patrick Fugit) well-meaning but overbearing mother. Fugit, for his part, had a convincing performance as the shy, awkward teenager struggling to be a journalist but at the same time aching to belong. Kate Hudson, as groupie "Penny Lane", gave her character depth beyond what might have been a limiting role. And Billy Crudup, as band Stillwater's charismatic lead guitarist, shines. Jason Lee is always good, and as Stillwater's lead singer, this role is no exception. The writing in the film also contributes to its effect. Many of the great lines belong to McDormand but there are plenty of others to go around. In addition, the music of the era can't be beat. Everything from Simon and Garfunkle to Alvin and the Chipmunks shows up at some point in the movie's extensive musical score. The plot may not be particularly original, but it rings true. I of course am approaching this review as a music fan and someone interested in the industry. Nonetheless, I believe that even people who couldn't care less about rock music will enjoy this movie, since it's not so much about the music as it is about life. A central theme is the conflict of William: Should he remain a detached but lonely outsider so as to be an impartial journalist, or allow himself to make friends with these people and feel like he belongs? Aside from bringing up questions of journalistic ethics, this dilemma mirrors much of what people in all wakes of life deal with daily. Almost Famous is realistic, funny, touching, and one of those rare movies that makes you feel like you've gained something just for having seen it. It's too bad that they say rock and roll is dead, cause we could sure use more movies like this one!

This movie makes you wanna be reborn in the 70s. I was never there (in the 70s) but boy would I have liked to see the clothes, hair and of course the birth of MUSIC! What an amazing movie... totally worth every penny and more. And if you are deterred by the negative reviews here... just check out the age group... a definite trend there... if you're a kid from the 70s and like a bit of Zepplin... what are you waiting for?

AHA!!! NOW I can say all the things I can about that stupid film. I hated it. It was so borring, I almost fell asleep. The only thing that made me stay awake was the desire to see the end, which was dissapointing, too. This film is far too long for its scenarium. I hated the scenarium, the actors, everything. The main actor there, Patrick, was so ugly, I did not even feel any sympathy for him, eu. Do not ever, ever in your life see that crap!!!

"... The best rock and roll movie ever... " Not even close. Compared to a 'coming of age' flick like Linklater's 'Dazed and Confused', this movie Almost Famous is Hollywood chicken feed. Why do I hate Cameron Crowe so much? It might have been a good script, but Crowe does it the disservice of directing the movie himself. There's an interview with P. T. Anderson who describes the scene in Magnolia where everyone sings, saying that he felt 'betrayed' by other movies in similar emotional set-ups. Cameron Crowe comes close to finally finding the way-out in his 'scene', but its his direction that spoils it in the end. And Kate Hudson - c'mon. Just a pretty face not a best supporting actress.

I liked it! Reminds me of old times... good portrait of the music industry of that decade! Makes you think about the values and goals at that time. Very impressive performances by those new actors (actresses! ) Could be considered as an historical revue on the 70's.

Your opinion is obviously in the minority... Go see the movie folks. There are very few movies out that make you feel good. That make you feel like you got your money's worth. This movie is it. It has great performances by everybody. It has great music. It is funny and yet has scenes in it that will touch you heart (or break it). It has everything that you could want in a movie. Go see it... NOW. Ooops... I almost forgot... Kate Hudson is HOT!!!!!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] A very very good script. The lines are very good. I totally agree that parents have to let go of their kids so they will grow up. I applaud everyone performance. Bravo! I was laughing all the time; especially, when William's mother called her son. The band aid told her that William was still a virgin. The plot flows smoothly. Overall: very tempted to see it a second time.
