What a poor movie! I didn't think that Stallone could do a bad movie but I was wrong. This was a pathetic last stab at returning to the silver screen, he should have quit while he was ahead. Mind you, he needs to share the blame with those directors, YIKES!

Somebody get me an Aspirin. I watched this film a while back and still get a headache when I think about the photographic effects. Stephen Kay should have sobered up before getting behind the camera. O.K., the action was good, I admit it. But people, lets put a little more dialoge in the movie and try not to get carried away with the Much-Music style cinematography.

I just the other day rented Get Carter and thought I would look up what other people thought of it. I was shocked to see all the negative comments, so here is mine. It was great! All the negative comments from the others was a result of there mistaking a movie theater for a OPERA HOUSE!! Wake up people! This was an excellent ACTION movie with a story line that will have you on the egde of your seat the whole time! Carter's anger and revenge is what ACTION movies are all about and if you are thinking of waching a good old fashion revenge ACTION flick check it out!! For all the OPERA lover's out there a word of caution, "DON'T GO AND SEE ACTION FLICKS!!! "

What a dismal excuse for a movie. The acting was bad. The story was bad. The plot (?) was bad. The directing was bad. The editing was bad. Mickey Rourke dancing at a rave? The plot was awful - the "big thing" that Carter's brother was "in to" did not exist. There is no explanation as to any character's involvement in anything. The Vegas trouble is never resolved. There is a never a great concerted effort to "Get Carter" - it's more like Carter is out to "Get Everyone" else. The best thing about this movie is the box cover.

This was billed as an action movie? Has anyone seen a John Woo film, especially the Hong Kong ones? Obviously not. Because once you've seen one of John Woo's Hong Kong films, like "The Killer" and "Hard Boiled", you wouldn't call a piece of crap like "Get Carter" an action flick. WHAT A ROTTEN PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! I fell asleep 15 mins into the movie, but I know I didn't miss anything. It was so-o-o-o predictable. And what's with the dark, rainy, gloomy look of the film? Did nothing to help it. Stallone, get a life. Go back to what you do best & stop trying to act. It's just NOT you! Besides, anything with Mickey Rourke in it, oh, why bother. I think Mickey Rourke is self-explanatory. Michael Caine: It pained me greatly to see you in such a movie not worthy of your talent. Were you suffering a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke) at the time you signed on to do this rubbish? Shame on you! I hope you didn't do this just for the $. A BIG GARBAGE DUMP OF A MOVIE.

It sucked big time! You'd have a better time watching Digimon The Movie...

What were all the camera effects about? They didn't seem to match what was going on with the film. Was Stephen Kay just having a little too much fun in the editing room? This movie, sans the irritating effects could have been a decent flick. Also, there were so many things left hanging. And no, they were not thought provoking ideas to leave you wondering. They were just simply not answered. In that respect, it seemed very rushed.

The only real plus is that Rachael Leigh Cook's acting ability is much improved.

I'm a big fan of Stallone but this new thing he's trying, "serious acting", doesn't work for him. First "Copland", now this. We need Stallone to be his Rocky self or his action movies. Also the movie was horribly directed. The director should get much, much of the blame for this movie being a flop. One last comment: We were expecting too much, just because Stallone has spoiled us when he writes, stars and directs a movie. In this one, he stars, but the rest of the movie was out of his hands.

Fight scenes are badly edited. Many "loose ends" concerning the story line. Certainly NOT one of Stalone's best... I think he was in a little bit of a rush to get it out before Schwarzenegger's new one... The 6th Day. Funny how both have a famous older actor, Robert Duvall for 6th Day, and Michael Caine for Get Carter... Something you would not have seen 10 years ago but does not make the movie any better... Simply makes you think if they took the part it can't be that bad. Hope Schwarzenegger does not lets us down... Then again he NEVER does!

Quite predictable movie. No overly exciting special effects. Annoying camera effects: strobing, slowing down and speeding up. The car chase scene was difficult to follow because of this. All in all, wait for the video or see it if you have nothing better to do and have some money to waste.

Nothing special about this movie, like most US movies the guy goes around beats up and kills people, end of story. A typical American G. I Joe movie.

A bad advertisement for smoking or just a bad movie? After seeing all characters chain smoke, there is a pathetic attempt to change the image. But even that fails... Sly playing "chicken" in a car against the bad guys? I thought they stopped doing that in the 60's. Unbelievable story, shallow characters, bad acting, lot of "cliches", supid one-liners... pure crap!

I expected much better. The characters are a little empty and Stallone is... well Stallone. There isn't as much action as you are led to believe by the trailer but that's OK because the action sequences are where they should be. Besides, more fights and car chases would not have helped this movie out, the problem is really with the story. I originally gave this movie a 5 but I'll add 1 point for having cast Micheal Cain, one of my all time favorite actors, but I'll subtract 1 point for having wasted that talent on this piece of sh... script.

After reviewing all of the above comments towards this film it seems that the overall reaction is poor. I have to agree that it is not the best Stallone movie... Maybe the worst. For those of you who thought it was the best action film you have seen... GET A LIFE!!! There was no action but Stallone beating up a few people (and kills one). If you want action rent some Van Damn movies... That's action... Or STAR WARS!!! I have to give this movie a low rating... Even though I like Stallone as an actor... This does not do him justice.

Dull, Dull film with very little action and very loud fighting sequences. The plot is impossible to follow and after a while you just don't care about what happened. Stallone is ok, but he's been in much better stuff before. Avoid at all costs. AT ALL COSTS!!

This movie was ok. Pretty long. I expected a better movie. The acting by Stallone was good, as for the rest of the characters, they sucked.
