G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra [2009] Movie Reviews on CinemaClock

While the movie is certainly not a classic, it is not terrible either. Some really bad and obvious plot holes and gaps in logic - you'll think "how did that happen" often. The worst offenders are the survival of an elevator despite a major battle that destroys almost everything else and how much distance a place can cover in less than 15 minutes. But it is what it is - a mindless action movie. They try hard to make it something more - filling in backstories for various charaters, adding some love stories and redemption sub-plots - but it doesn't work. The story is predictable and plodding. The action is as contrived as the story. Maybe the most surprising thing is how many recognisable actors there are (even if you don't know their names you'll recognise their faces) Wait for it to be shown on TV.
