[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This movie," G. I. Joe: The rise of the cobra" was a good action film, for thirteen and more. The best points of the movie were the good specials effects and the acting play but they made faults whit the story coherence and their little love soty try. The specials effects were very spectacular, we see a lot of them in the submarine battle. Also, the acting play was good, the main actor looks like a real soldier, in the movie, we see the character, not the actor. But the story wasn't really coherent, the evil guy Said some guys cant suffer but when they die, they look very suffering. And when they try to put some love in the story, it wasn't a good idea. So, that was a good action movie, whit little mistakes, its true but I wish you will go rent it!

I really wanted to like but it was HORRIBLE!! There has to be something wrong with these peoples brains who have rated it a 10 (masterpiece really?) There is a reason for a rating system, you don't have to give a movie a 10 just because you liked it.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] G. I. Joe is in no way a good movie. The cast is uneven, the plot is preposterous, the CGI not always that good, the characters are one-dimensional, and the attempt at developing them through annoying flashbacks is laughable, but here I go, and claim G. I. Joe my first official guilty pleasure in years. Everything is over-the-top, the action sequences, there are many of them, too many at some points, the acting from some of the villains, and Stephen Sommers's directing, but its all done in a cartoonish fashion which seems to suit the G. I. Joes. It's a lot of fun, if you are willing to give in. Unlike Transformers 2 - even though it had supposedly humorous moments - G. I. Joe doesnt take itself too seriously and some of the actors are having a lot of fun. At times the characters and subplot settings for a second installment felt like Star Wars, especially the villains, but also some other various elements. There is an impressive ninja sword fight between Ray Parks - whom we never see the face or hear the voice - and Byung-hun Lee, the Korean actor from the amazing revenge flick A Bittersweet Life. Sienna Millers and Rachel Nichols's cleavages give pretty good performances and Channing Tatum is acting more intense than he should. One main problem the film has would be the amount of action throughout the film, by the time of the climatic finale - which last several minutes - the audience might feel worn out and not care about what should be extremely entertaining, if, prior to getting there, you let the Joes in. Lets not forget the cheesiness and the terrible dialgoue. I'm not ashamed to say I liked it, it reminded me of all those times I played with my action figures and created impossible action sequences, which feel kind of realistic now after seeing the film. This is in no way a recommendation.

Some special affects were a little off. Ice doesn't sink when it explodes!!! Lots of action and imagination at work. Room for a sequel.

The 12 year old child in me who used to watch the cartoons, thinks this was excellent and my adult self, thinks it was pretty good. It's just an excuse to have one action sequence follow another but I enjoyed it. It certainly wasn't the horrible cartoon-to-movie failure that the Transformers was. The only part of the movie that really stunk for me was the Norton Product Security placement. If you're not boy or man who liked the cartoon, it's probably not for you, but you probably knew that already.

Very disappointing. I can't even remember what it was about except that I was thinking that I had made a very poor choice with this one.

If you like action, then this movie should be perfect to watch. Few blasts and action scenes are worth of paying the ticket.

This movie was about what I expected and maybe even a little better. It's a mans movie but I still enjoyed the action. Not as good as many that were out this summer but still a good watch. Worth seeing on the big screen.

This movie was amazing! It was a fun action packed film that had an interesting characters, a strong story and a great build up to the next GIJOE film. A great start overall!

It was better that transformers! It doesn't really a a clear link to the original GIJOE but it was a good stand on it's own movie.

It was a good action movie. I was forced to go see it cause I thought it would be cheezy but it wasn't. I was surprised how I actually enjoyed it. Some details in the story could have been better but it's ok.

Better than Transformers 2 for one reason it was not as long. Yes it did pretty much what T2 did (explosions everywhere) but eh I liked it better.

This movie had good action scenes. That's about it. That is worth the (3) The story felt like it was written by teenage boys, the acting was terrible... from everyone. I never liked Channing Tatum, this solidifies it. Even the CGI should have been better for such an "ACTION PACKED BLOCKBUSTER!" Poor Dennis Quaid... he's getting desperate.

Lots of fast action and had some entertainment but the ending was sooo lame it ruined it. The G. I. Joe purists would hate it.

A movie that shouldn't be taking seriously. Anyone who rated this poorly was taking it waaayyy to seriously. I SAY: sit back, relax and enjoy the show. It is way too corny for words (in the extreme) in true GI JOE style. I had so much fun watching the movie. A couple explosions, impossible feats and really easy to look at actors. How can you go wrong?

Very exciting, action packed... well worth seeing on big screen... I thought it was going to be more Spiderman, Ironmanish... so I brought my 6 and 8 year old... No swearing, but alot more killing and fight scenes (my wife was not happy). no gore but there are some borderline scenes for the under 12 crowd.

Terrible, on every level. Horrible. I can't understand why this movie has other reviewers suggesting this is anything but crap. Makes me think this site is half-way bogus. Do not even waste your money on renting this, wait til it comes on T. V. for free, then don't watch it.

Fast paced movie, good special effects. I liked the movie overall, with the only drawbacks being that it was fairly predictable, with some cheesy names for the technology used. Otherwise, my son and I (10 yrs. old) gave it a strong 8 out of 10! =)

Okay, I am obviously of the female persuasion! I was dragged (not quite kicking and screaming) to the movie by my boyfriend. I didn't think I would enjoy it very much, but wanted to do something for him as he always goes to "chick flicks" with me... I LOVED IT! GI Joe was awesome! It was action packed, humorous, and had a bit of romance going on. I recommend everybody go and see it! You will not be disappointed!

This movie is fun. It's not going to be an Oscar contender. There is no fine acting, there are no plot twists and creative writing, and there is no artistic direction here. This is a comic book/toy related popcorn movie. There is no deep thought or challenging scenes here. This is strictly frivolous fun and that's OK. If you're looking for deep, challenging, complex and thoughtful film making? You won't find it here. If you want a fun romp with lots of eye candy, you've found it here.

I'd rate this as a zero if it were possible - I wouldn't even recommend it for the cheapo theaters, much less a movie rental. I'd expect "little boys" to be entertained, but that's about it. I do not expect a deep plot or anything else along those lines when I go to see a movie such as this, BUT, this garbage does not even qualify as good "mind candy" - more like brain rot! I find it's U. S. driven political undertones/innuendo most inappropriate - just how long do they hold grudges for anyways? Or is it a sign of low esteem? Let it go. Save your money folks, go rent a Schwarzenegger film if you want some good mind candy. I hate to say it, but even some of Stallone's worst movies are still better than this one!
