You know what I enjoy? Movies with big soul. Movies that get you thinking long after it ended. Movies that have a purpose. This was one of those movies. A GIANT!

This is a milestone in cinema, after which you can't go back. A unique vision - well it was once, before the imitators. Best to be seen on the big screen.

Wow! I think I did dream of electric sheeps last night after seeing my top movie of all time (newly remastered 35mm) at the cinema. I never thought I would actually see it on the big screen (since I wasn't even born when it first got out!!) It was better then ever. The Final Cut is darker and much more bleaker. Go see it while you can. You haven't seen Blade Runner if it's not on the big screen!!!

DVD: "Blade Runner (Director's Cut)"
This is one of the few director's cuts that I know of where significant amounts of material from the theatrical release were TAKEN OUT. I know that Ridley Scott hadn't envisioned this movie with a voiceover and that Harrison Ford wasn't overly happy about recording the track, but I've always felt it added to the noir feel of the film. Also, Scott's removal of the epilogue wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but the ending seemed rather abrupt once he did this. This director's cut is passable, but I'm pretty sure the Final Cut where Scott had the time and the studio backing to recut and edit the film properly will be considerably better.

I've been a rabid movie buff since infancy, tens of thousands of movies seen. I have a top ten movies list of my own after all of this and at the very top of that list is Blade Runner. An absolute masterpiece that is studied in film school, if ever a movie deserved a ten star rating, this is it.

This is the mother of all movies. There are two kinds of people in this world: those who understand Blade Runner, and those who don't! This movie is about the definition of what a human being is and what it seeks. Every sentence in this movie is significant, down to the chess game Tyrell is playing so one has to pay close attention. Go see this movie at least three times! Thank you Philip K. Dick and Ridley Scott.

A cult film... one of the best ever made from one of the best science fiction stories ever written. If you don't understand what beauty and love is... the meaning of life... don't go see it [...] Go see x-mas movies instead. This is a master piece. Like this only 2001 from kubrik. Makes me think once more that cinema today is a crap. Lets no be so selfish...

I can't describe in words what a great movie this is; You have to let yourself be immersed in it to truly appreciate it.

Bested only by Stanley Kubrick's 2001 - hmm... another film where man's creation seems more "human" than its creator! - Blade Runner: The Final Cut is now practically perfect in every way. The sound and image corrections do not alter the basic story (don't go looking for a shift as dramatic as the 'The Director's Cut' version was from the original theatrical release) but merely a correction and fine-tuning of every annoyance that more often than not lessened the emotional impact of the story (10,000 thanks, Joanna Cassidy!!!) If you have never seen Blade Runner on the big-screen (hell, if you've never seen Blade Runner at all!) DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR - GO BEFORE IT'S GONE! One of the greatest experiences of film-going awaits!

A true sci-fi classic. One of my all time favorites. I liked the original cut better than the director's cut, which is contrary to most.

Wickedly techno, dark, cluttered, stylish, blue, sleek and vibrantly gray.

I am uncertain whether Ridley's grotesque picture of Los Angeles, as the American Nightmare of the future, has ever been compared to Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein, or the New Prometheus" or Fritz Lang's expressionist "Metropolis." But the title, "Blade Runner, " deserves to be investigated since it has no connection with Philip K. Dick's novel, "Do Androids Dream, etc." The movie dwells on images of women dehumanized and brutalized with gratuitous savagery by "law and order" forces represented by Deckard. There are also hints throughout stereotyping woman being responsible for loss of innocence due to Eve in Paradise. This is only reversed by the disputed ending of Deckard's flight with Rachel (Sean Young) Possibly Ridley was subject to conflicting influences. Whatever the truth, Ridley does address the danger of "superman" ideas and the ruinous inhumanity of modern industrial society. His philosophically noble theme is freedom from evil institutions. (10/10)
