'Why do you need a gun? Because we're in America'. Wow, this film is simply brilliant from start to end. I've never watched a movie with so much non-verbal communication before. The actors emotions and expressions say so much. I've been looking for inteligent films lately and this did not disapoint me. This is a big WOW. Not only does it say alot about the United-States but it says alot about the world. There are so many deep messages in this film, it's F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C.

This is my favourite movie of all time; it is artistic, and not what you expect. I don't really feel it's a western, more of a dark comedy and the surreal spin with black & white somber tone is really well complimented by the improvised soundtrack by Neil Young. It's a bit raunchy, beautiful scenery, unexpected twists and plenty of cameos though I admit it's a bit slow paced. I saw it in the theatre when it was in limited release and nobody knows what movie I'm talking about when I tell them my favourite film ("oh you mean Dead Man Walking with Sean Penn? "... no!)

A person leaving an awareness with political view of One World, transitions with established prospect and hope, to be denied Passage into 'Gameful Employment', and finds Himself on the wrong end of a Gun with no resolution once positioned as a N'er Do Well, simply morphs into a defense postured victim who learns a new language to communicate with - Poetry - piles bodies and collects White Man's Metal - to find His true destiny where Sky and mirror meet.

Simply surrealistic! Slowly paced - but fascinating to watch. I enjoyed the way the movie took several turns - then became almost like a spiritual journey. Johnny Depp is very gifted actor.

Unreal vid, one of my all time favs. Depp is perfect and Neil Young is magical. I can watch the movie and listen to the soundtrack both over and over.

Looks like a religous icon!! Fantastic directing and cinematography. Johnny Depp is perfect for the part and Neil Young is amazing. A real tangent from the John Wayne crap of yesteryear and a facinating journey from first scene til last.

Move over Citizen Kane, this film appeals to my intelligence and sums up everything I love about motion pictures. It's like a filmed dream. Beautiful pictures; acting, and the soundtrack couldn't fit better if it were composed by John Williams. MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER period.
