I am/was a fan of Sascha Baron Cohen. This film came right up on the verge of changing that. In Borat he was poking fun/savaging society and the people within it who truly deserve and needed it. He was savage and fearless. This film is a faint shadow of what Borat was. It was incredibly mean spirited, and the vast majority of the people in it seemed like decent enough folks who were just simply bewildered.

Luckily I didn't pay. I am a fan of sascha Baron Cohen and even if Borat was not his best character, at least the movie was funny mostly due to real people being duped. Bruno is mostly staged, few if any real people. Feels like they filmed what they could with real people and since there was not enough footage, they decided to makeshift a script around the little they had. I did laugh hard a few times but not enough to merit calling this movie a worthy investment. Too much vulgarness and not enough genius. Feels like a rushed production.

Kind of funny but gross. Definitely not as good as Borat. Laughed out loud a couple of times but not more than that.

What was I thinking! I remember laughing quite a few times with Borat, except for the bedroom rolling around bit, totally unnecessary. We have become sophisticated and it gets harder to make people laugh nowadays. Bruno lost it... just got way too vulgar. Disturbing, offensive language, nudity, sexual content, explicit sex, no class at all, a semi porn type of production. Poor movie, poor taste. I do not recommend it.

I cant come to comprehend how people can call this movie a masterpiece or give it a 10 out of 10. A masterpiece and success isn't given on how gutsy you are. This movie didn't stay in major theaters for a reason. It is tasteless and just ridiculous. Masterpieces are things cherished by the grand majority for its art and purpose. If you find this hilarious and great, grow up a bit more.

This wasn't the best of Sacha Baron Cohen's movies, yet you can't expect too much out of his films. He focuses mainly on contreversy, and public uproar. That's exactly what this film was about. I don't understand the people who complained about all the gay scenes because that's who BRUNO is. It's supposed to be about that. It was an okay movie with some funny moments but I have to agree all the funny moments were shown in the previews. Wait to rent it.

It was good the first time around. I had to go see it again and it just... wasn't funny anymore. I think the only worthwhile part to this movie is the soundtrack. I loved the music.

A couple laughs to be had, for sure. Most of the good stuff was already shown in the trailers. Nowhere near as good as Borat. Rent it.

The movie is a great illustration of the absurds in the modern american society. It is very brutal but real and very much to the truth.

So, there is a lot of funny stuff in it, however far too much bad acting from "real" people. I was a little disappointed because the bruno segments on his tv show are much much funnier. It could have been a lot better I think. But I did laugh, and Sacha Baron Cohen, as always, did a great job.

Pure genius. This Sacha Baron Cohen character for most people is much less loveable than that of a previous character he portrayed in the movie "Borat..." In the movie," Borat...". Cohen's character was at least initially loveable as rednecks and middle-class Americans were willing to show Borat why America is the "... greatest country in the world". Bruno, on the other hand, is instantly hated by most who meet him as he is gay, Austrian "... I want to be the most famous Austrian since Hitler", and a fashion reporter. Most rednecks and bible-belters find this combination very frightening, except the Hitler part, of course, in the case of the rednecks. So, where the Borat character starts off kind of innocent, quickly building into hilarious trouble, the Bruno character is instantly intense and shocking."Bruno" is a great film which quickly rises above the unadulterated pap we are fed each day.

Boo! Hiss! Failed movie, everything that is funny about the movie is in the trailer. The rest of the movie is a dud. Boring, not funny, painful to watch.

K, well I understand why so many people did not enjoy this movie. In many ways I agree they could have left a few of the extremely revealing, and awkward scenes, but setting aside those scenes, the humour of this movie makes it a masterpiece. I believe you must watch this movie KNOWING that there is gonna be some 'gay' humour/jokes, but you have to see beyond that and enjoy this movie for it's humour, and it's breaking-the-boundaries-of-society qualities.

I should have known how awful it was going to be-actually I did, but I got suckered in by two friends who both really wanted to see it. I don't know how anyone actually auditioned to be in this movie. You would have to be so absolutely desperate for fame in order to degrade yourself nationally like that, it is truly pathetic.

This is the kinda of movie that is funny for about 20 minutes. And then you realize it's not really a movie at all but a jumble of vignettes of 'bruno' trying to annoy everybody possible. Ya, you will laugh and the stupidity but then you will think I sat through all of this? Ugh.

Unfortunately the movie is not really satire. With the exception of the wrestling scene, homophobes are not directly mocked. Most of the laughs come at the expense of Bruno as he recycles every gay sterotype in the book. The movie is a gay minstrel show.

I left halfway through the movie. Not really sure why I went in the first place, other than the fact that so many people rave about Sacha Baron Cohen. Personally I think the guy is a jerk. It was a tasteless unfunny stupid movie.

You need a certain sense of humour to see this. It was a comedy, but it put down a lot of people and in that way, it wasn't to everyone's taste. Sacha Baron Cohen pulled off the gay character, but it may have been over done. He made comments that were outrageous and the laughter came because it was unexpected.

Not only was I freaked out at how gay and creepy the character Bruno was but this movie sucked!!! It was terrible I thought this was going to be like Borat which was an awesome movie by the way really retarded this movie though. The people who reviewed Bruno's first episode to his show to be A List Stars where just as freaked out as I was to see Bruno (not only the movie but the character) I almost got up and left at one point until my friend who was the one who dragged me to see this pathetic excuse for a movie and strangely enough he liked it but then again he is a die hard Sacha Baron Cohen fan so I suppose he was a little more forgiving than I was... They only thing I can say is avoid this movie at all costs.

This was horrible. Enough said there. Seriously, who wants to see the crap that they put up. I enjoy dumb comedy (ie Superbad, The Hangover) but this was just ridiculous. There is a reason this movie was #1 in the box office the first week, and no where close the second. Do yourself a favour and save your money!

This movie was overall one of the funniest movies this decade but as much as I liked this movie I think it lacked much storyline it was funnier than borat but borat was a better story and easier to sit through ( thank god to black lines ) in the end I think BRÜNO crissed the line a bit too much.

There is only so many gay sex scenes a person can handle and to have a penis dance scene is a little bit to much. Borat was much better.

I did like Borat better only because it was the first of its kind. Although the message in Bruno was underlying and most people wouldn't get it, I thought it was cleverly done. Plus, it was worth watching the homophobes in the audience freak out. It's the 21st century... get over it.

Bruno is a funny movie, it has its great moments and it's not so great moments. The thing is I thought Borat was hilarious and I was expecting it to be pretty similar, and it was. The thing is, is that bruno didn't have the same well put together storyline that borat did. Bruno was much more random and hard to predict and some of the scenes seemed staged or forced and didn't quite make the punch it really needed to make them funny. The character himself was very funny and flamboyent, but kept repeating the same jokes over until they no longer made me laugh. I felt mixed when I came out of the theater unsure about what exactly I saw, I liked it and would recommend seeing it, but I warn you to just not expect to much from it. Its definitely not up to the same standard as borat.

This movie is just a mish-mash of random scenes. If you are very good at blocking out bad memories, you will probably think you liked this film because of the 5 or 6 genuinely funny moments. But if you remember everything, then the other 90% of the movie will leave you bored and nausiated.

Still laughing and I saw it a week ago... still cringing too. And to all you 1/10's I guess you can't appreciate Cohen's ridiculous and original sense of humour and insane courage, and blowing the whistle on american homophobia. As himself he's a very eloquent and intelligent guy and a fine actor (see Sweeny Todd) Loved it, but yipes there were too many schlongs. Still 10.
