Nice, well done Norway magic, beats North American block buster routines any time. But not for every one. It is about real people and what happens when there is no more script for them. Difficult to assemble all the bits and pieces in logical manner, but so is life, as dreams and reality mix. Very subtle fine humor.

Beatifull! Like Norway magical realism, slow, and moving. Nothing with the stupid cinema, coming from North America! A must see!

Deadpan humour -- note emphasis: DEADpan. This 'comedy' is so introverted that it can barely inflate its lungs to wheeze, far less belly-laugh. Intensely ironic, understated to the point of virtual non-existence, this ode to retiring Norwegian train engineer Odd O'Horten is just that - odd. There are a few quirky, obvious attempts at situational metaphor, but stitching these together without any narrative arc is irksome. It is shot in frigid, icy blues and night hues. Imagine spending three days inside your freezer imitating a sno-cone. Heartwarming it isn't, but it sure is different.
