I must admit that those of you who allow a movie to affect your faith should reconsider your stance in the faith. I feel that this movie was very well done besides the questionable exisistance of the corpse. I feel that Banderas did a good job in protraying the spiritual pressure that a man caught in a similar situation would feel. Finally, the message of the movie was nice, since it taught us to "think with our hearts" and to find the truth by looking within us. It also restates that religion is not based on proof, but belief.

As an archeologist and professor this film has everything needed to make one understand both the scientific method and the process of faith. An excellent teaching film about faith and reason. I recommend it to college students who are having difficulty sorting out the intellectual approach to faith and the importance of clear, careful investigation.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Israeli/Jewish propoganda at it's most extreme. The fact that Christ's existance is accepted by Romans, Jews and Christians should be stated. Where is there any proof of any characters from Judaism. The point of the ressurection whether by man or divine intervention is the whole point of Christianity. A slight oversight should the body be left behind. Palestinians leaving car bombs; ultra-understanding ultra orthodox Jews could they pamper any more to stereotypes. Trite; incomprehensible rubbish. Now the Last Temptation of Christ is a realistic portrayl of doubt;primafacially may deny Christ, but in the end confirms his faith.

I have just seen the movie. At least I could feel and discovered how strong my faith is. I was abit shaky by my imagination and questions what if the bones were of Jesus. What we believe and perform our deeds on earth will not make sense if Christ's bones were still in the tomb. At any rate, the movie obviously presents us how we should put our belief alive even if such event takes place. Only that the last part of the movie turned out to be more romantic ending. I don't understand why Bandera left the priesthood. Has he found his own belief or what? Just share your views with me.

It's one of the most beautiful film I've ever seen in my life. It talks about faith, doubt, menkind and God. You must see it.

All I can say is, we must live by faith not by sight...

Good movie. I think it shows how people of integrity who search for the truth can be manipulated by those in power. The truth did not matter to those in power in the movie - their interest was in protect their power. If the bones were those of Jesus, Christianity WOULD collapse, because the Resurection is the proof of Jesus' claim of being God. He WAS seen after his death by over 500 people, but I thought that this movie made an interesting point of people motivations. After all the struggles, threats and killings because of this "body", it turns out to be something very innocent that was done 2000 years ago...

I thought that the movie "The Body" was a very good movie. I watched it with my father, after it we had a good debat over it. See I am a chritian and he is not. So we always get into debats (really they are fights) and it is always over the same thing. The movie provied my point, but not his. I thought that the movie was very good and I look forward to seeing it again!!

I just saw "the Body" a few minutes ago and I thought it was a good movie, but not a great movie. What I found interesting is how my mother and I discussed the issues of the movie and how her point of view differed from mine. If one believes that Christ was resurrected then, as I tried to point out to my mother, what if something like this happened? Is it wrong to accept that Christ did die and was not resurrected if it is proven so by science? Or does one continue to believe in the resurrection of Christ even though it is proven not to have happened? Religion can change lives for good and I believe Christ when he was here on earth only taught love for each other and to ignore the trappings of power and money. But as in the movie as in real life, religion is used to pit people against people, to start wars, and to control people by exploiting their faith in God. All one has to do is listen to politicans. So the movie in that sense does point out the reality of what a discover like this could do to religious communities and governments. I think the only flaw in the movie would be the ending. It was meant to pacify those who could feel betrayed by someone even suggesting that Christ hadn't risen from the grave. It shows that people like my mother and like those who have sent in their comments stating that a movie like this should not be watch really need to figure out where they would stand if it was proven that Christ was an exceptional man, but not divine. Should people stop loving and caring for their fellowman? Is life hopeless or is humanity's exitence and its achievements futile? This is what people need to think about and I think this is what the movie is trying to get across as a message to its viewers.

This movie makes people question their faith. The facts in this movie are very bad considering you would never find the bones of Jesus Christ. This movie really blew the big one.

I think the movie was alright... somehow, it tests our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It's a bit creepy actually, it's unpredictable too. It's not advicable to watch for those who doesn't have a strong faith in Jesus because it might change their beliefs, as I told you, it is not advicable for the people who has a weak faith. Antonio was great... too good looking for a priest. I thought that he would fall for the girl... but that's good, a good impression that a director can give for a priest. It only shows the chastity of the priests. On the other hand, you guys should watch this... it's a movie to remember. :)

It is a Hollywood movie folks! For entertainment and enjoyment... LetÂ’s keep facts and reality separate.

This was a very good movie. It made me think, but it might unnerve someone of more "faith" than I. Or reaffirm, possibly, as someone has said already. I was kind of hoping for Matt to completely abandon his priesthood and fall in love with Sharon, but that's just me, and alas, it wouldn't be so.

It's a remarkable movie with an outstanding Banderas. It shows which conflicts all the religions create. And it takes us to a clear mind that we should not accept all things we are told. Believe is one thing, but this life should not be destined by a religion.

This movie must be difficult for unquestioning believers. The priests who allowed the possibility the the find was, indeed, the bones of Jesus, were juxaposed dramatically against those whose belief did not allow them to consider the possibility. Galileo would have understood.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I did not find that the revelation in the movie that the body was not the body of Christ to be a weak point. The reason being that the character played by Antonio Banderas (who's faith was being tested) never knew, but believed anyway. I think it was a way of showing the audience that his faith was not in vain, although he is unaware of the "truth."

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The movie didn't weaken my faith. On the contrary, it helps me to re-confirm my faith a bit. I say, "Blessed are those who have seen Not, and still believe! " Even if there are numerous proofs that contradict to the description in the bible, they won't affect my faith. Religion is in our heart, or if you are follower of Christ, God is in our spirit not in physical objects. I witnessed dramatic and positive transformations in people's lives because they believe. Isn't this what matter most? People's feelings, the way they live their lives, the way they treat others are real and true. Even if all beings in this world contradict with the description in the bible, such real and true human feelings and behaviours, that can be found over hundreds of years, are undeniable. The Church is cleverer than that described in the movie in real life. I'm not saying that the Church is perfect because afterall it's composed of imperfect human beings. The way the Church handled the discovery of the Shroud of Turin is an example. i.e. just leave the discovery with an indefinite conclusion. I agree, however, that movies such as this can be used to misguide people, but on second thought, so can everything else be! The weakest point of the movie was when it showed the message carved onto that piece of stone after the tomb was blown up. It showed that the bones were of someone's son David, not Jesus. If this part was omitted, then the movie could've made a strong point about faith does not depend on physical evidence (as it also mentioned by the guy who first tried to blackmail the Vatican in the movie). Unfortunately, the movie showed the message on the stone, so it showed that even the director or the screenwriter wasn't sure about what the movie was trying to present. The message was added to reaffirm the audience that the body was not of Jesus. Arhh....... it doesn't matter!

Yeah, right. As if you can find BONES that are 2000 years old. Um. What kind of idiot came up with this? Set aside religion, use biology, basics, and you can see that bones turn to dust.

This movie makes men so pesimistic to their religion. This movie also weakens our faith to Lord Jesus. So We'd better be careful of watching it. Finally, Truth comes from the bible and tradition of church and all disciples.
