Great movie. I thought it might just be another one of those "we're big strong men watch us sweat" movies, but I really enjoyed it! Saw it on TV at Christmas. It made me cry, which is also kind of unusual. See it, it's definitely worth it.

Good movie. Worth a rental. Robert Redford is good and fairly convincing in his role. He plays a general who is sent to prison and wants to overthrow the local boss (Gandolfini) Great cinematography. Predicable however.

I think that they need to create a new genre for this movie - "action fairy tale". : -) However you may find the story unbelievable but you won't find it dull. Redford is in good form, as usual, Gandolfini does a create job creating the character of the prison warden, and all the other actors do a great job as well. The language is not as offensive as most movies of this genre, and the violence is no more than needed to keep the plot moving. If you like Redford or Gandolfini check it out on the big screen.

The film was entertaining from beginning to end with high quality actors that portrayed interesting characters. The story was entertaining but seemed to lack innovation. I left the film satisfied but not feeling much else.

If you want to go to see a real story like people living on welfare or some other so called 'not American clichés dont go to see this movie. But if you like a movie for what it is, this is a movie for you!

This movie is about honor and the American military. The interpretation is excellent. I believe that the movie would have been superb if the characters had more depth in them. It could have been a fantastic movie but unfortunately, for some reason that only the director knows, it wasn't. Gandolfini and Redford are, as I said: excellent. Goood Movie : go see it.

The story in a way gives you some courage while showing what man can do against the unpleasent situations he is in. But in the end, this movie is very american. The actual reason that I didnt like it was that, the colors and the pictures were not getting into a slight change all through the movie, which is really boring! Of course there is not much choice while shooting a prison movie -but still... I guess 'Papillion' will remain as the best prison story that has been filmed ever, for a long while.

Are you comfortable cheering on drug smugglers and murderers? Are you okay taking a life lesson in being all that you can be, in the indomitability of the human spirit, in the basic need for self-respect, from convicted violent offenders? THE LAST CASTLE certainly gives ya something to chew on.

Oh, man you gonna see this movie, it's the best ever! I was deeply touched and moved. It has nothing to do with typical American cliche. U'll see how amazing it could be to have people organized spiritually. Go and see it! I would have valued it 100 if I could.
