A phenomenal movie for an Action/Sci Fi/World Is Doomed movie. The movie effectively dealt with each character's hopes and fears during the time of crisis. The acting was phenomenal (Robert Duvall, Morgan Freeman, and Vanessa Redgrave, notably) The theme of a father daughter reunion after years of conflict touched me(Tea Leoni and Maximillian Schell played the roles perfectly) An excellent portrayal of a younger couple's romance and attempt to flee impending doom. Good special effects. Hooray for Western Canada being saved (pay attention to the destination of the comet(s)) Se this movie instead of Armageddon.

The better of the two movies in the summer of the comet. Took a more serious look at what would happen if a comet came at the earth. Script & direction fell short of making this a great movie, but not a bad way to spend the evening. Much better than Armageddon!
