Butler is excellent but not stellar as the plot, exciting at times, but contrived and thrown together hastily at the end is disappointing. The movie starts out with great hopes but peters out at the end, unfortunately. Washington is okay, but not always believable. An "okay" movie for sure, but full of blood, guts and gore and a few surprises.

It was a really good action movie. The history was fascinating and stirring! If you like explosion and thriller, it's your movie! The cinegorth will be tied to the screen. Law abiding citizen is one of the best movie of the years. The actors Gerald Butler hold is character with brillance. Jamie Fox was exceptional in Nick Rice.

Great plot, superb acting by Gerard Butler, a bit of a stretch on the believability scale, a scathing portrayal of our incredibly flawed legal system... but what keeps it from being a truly great movie is the horribly contrived and rushed ending.

Very explicit, graphic violence. Waited for gore to be over. It never did. Walked out half way through. This extreme is not necessary to make a good movie.

Extremely brutal but extremely good plot. I jumped a few times and had to turn my head over twice but I think it was needed to really show the true feelings of the actors. Gerard Butler is a very good villain! Not for kids under 18.

Overall was pretty good, but couldn't understand why the leprachaun had to return the submarine at the end--couldn't he just have painted it again?! Pia Zadora was especially good as the albino transvestite midget, though I thought her breastees would have been bigger, like they were in Ratatouille...

Truly amazing. Kept myself at the edge of my seet throughout the entire movie. Great actors and you cannot predict what will happen next. Oh and for that lady who said it corrupts our world, step out on the streets you will see alot worse!

Almost the entire movie left me guessing what would happen next. And I was surprised at quite a few scenes - with movies lately I've been able to predict the next six scenes. With some fantastic acting, suspense, and a fantastic clip of Gerard Butler's butt, this is one of the best I've seen in a long time.

Loved every minute of it! Very well made and the time was well organized... not like some movies where nothing happens in the whole hour and half, and then in the last ten minutes, too many things happen and we got nothing... this one was pretty well done :)

This movie is definitely a restricted movie and should not be seen by any children or teenagers!!! There is no reason for ANYONE to see violence like this or suggested scenes like this movie has. It could have been a really good movie if they had taken alot of that out and there is NO reason that anyone should see this! No wonder we have so many problems in our world! This is just a mind corruptor!!!

Very good action throughout, and story, I'm not going to go into the story, that's for you to find out, but I will say one thing, I personally was disappointing by the ending. I would have preferred his original plan to go through.

Much better than I expected. Not just about another self rightous psychopath revenge movie at all. Brillant acting except Gerald Butler really seems to struggle with accents, expecially American ones. The gore was somewhat excessive however, more than required to get the point across.

I like a "revenge movie" as much as the next guy, and when they are done well (aka Taken) they are well worth it! However, this movie's plot was simply too improbable to be believed! There was simply no rationale for Gerard Butler's character's actions, and the ensuing behavior of the authorities defied all reason! By the end of the movie I was completely lost as to who I was supposed to be rooting for and as long as any of the actors were standing there was no appropriate revenge in my books!

Once again we are introduced to a brilliant antagonist who is up against hollywood's everyday protagonist where the outcome is never in doubt. I would give this movie a better rating if only the outcome was as clever as the antagonist.

I really enjoyed the movie. I gave the movie plot a 9+. It had me wondering how these 'unexplained' murders were taking place while he was incarcerated. I would rate the ending at a 2+. Maybe I am being over critical since I worked most of my life in the prison system, but I found it very unrealistic and disappointing.

I normally detest revenge movies because of their simplistic black and white view of humanity, but this one was different. Less action oriented and more twisty and intriguing like Seven was. I did not like the 2 or 3 Saw-like scenes, but otherwise it was thoroughly enjoyable. But please people, don't read too much into it about the justice system. There is a grain of truth there but don't run with it.

It was a great action movie. Great performance from the actors. Gerard Butler is one the sexiest actors out there today, what's there not to like. Goes to show how extremely messed up our justice system is on this continent. I loved this movie.

I can't believe the BS is the end. The whole movie right until the last 5 minutes was SICK but unfortunately they managed to f$%^ it up. This movie had so much potential to end with a bang, but unfortunately they ended it the cheap way [...] Blah blah blah Come on!!! It's been done so many times. Try something new people... Like I said for the first 103 minutes it was 10/10 and the ending was a big fat 0. What a shame.

An awesome movie till the end where (in 6 minutes, they screw up the first 90 minutes) of the film. We have here a super intelligent guy who at the end has an attention span of a toaster by forgetting to put SOME type of detection in case his tunnel or plans where discovered, a real genius like that would've thought about having his escape route rigged as well, very stupid and very illogical in all ways. Another idiotic part of this (should I even say a stupid error made by the film makers) was to put a CLEARLY OBVIOUS suitcase like that in the city Hall, where even a first degree noob assassin would have hidden it better then he did. He usually makes his plans to perfection and all of a sudden, he has the intelligence of a roadkill raccoon! What I LOVED about this movie is to show us how stupid and flawed the judicial systems are in the U. S, Canada also, heck the entire world! Congrats to them for laughing at it but BOO to them for flopping their own idea and their own movie by BOTCHING the ending. The lawyer (now newly appointed D. A isnt that clever, technically, him finidng out the plans and tunnels would have been as lucky as winning the lotery twice in a row, but they made him look like a super hero type of guy, again, it's what I call scrapping a movie!
