David Lynch can acknowledge that "Dune" is his creation, despite all the difficulties and problems of revision, which are impossible to accurately determine. The only way to describe its final state is positively miraculous, where Sean Young and Kyle MacLachlan reach romantic perfection as predestined dream heroes, and when the little sister Alia (Alicia Rowanne Witt) , of Paul Atreides (Kyle) , announces the birth of a new world finally free of evil and torment, in her wonderful child star performance. Frank Herbert's fascinating epic has been adapted to film by a master of mythological movie craft. A classic even with its problems.
