Absolutely beautiful. Parts were a little prolonged, but this is one of the best Hindi films I have seen in a long time. Gorgeous cinematography. The ending was perfect.

One of the better historical fictions ever. I get pulled into the characters and began invisioning my life in the circumstances. Heartache.

I will recommend this movie to everyone who loves watching different type of cinema. A wonderful experience.

It was definnitely a good movie and it portrayed the hardships the people had undergone at that point of time. The irony that Muslims and Hindus fighting together against the British rule and in turn fighting among themselves was presented in a nice manner. They say - "For every 100 steps we take into the future, we have to take a step into the past". The bloody violence really shattered many of my thoughts about the amity between hindus and muslims. I would definitely rate it among the best movies, when it comes to social awareness of the then Indians/Pakistanis.
