Keeps you on the edge of your seat worried about the outcome and completely confused until the very end. Makes you question your morals too.

This movie was ok... it kept me interested... but I found it kind of hard to understand. It does have a great catch to it also. It really keeps you thinking.

Stupid predictable movie. Very gay. If you wanted to see a good Spacey see the usual suspects.

Ok... anybody bashing this movie or saying it was "predictable" obviously has half a brain. This was the best movie I ever saw and Spacey is a genius- take it from me, I'm not gonna ramble on with a whole bunch of crap that makes it sound like I'm a movie reviewer; just go see the movie. Itll change your life.

I really enjoyed this movie. It approached the issue of the death penalty in a different way. I found it very thought provoking and philosophical. I recommend it!

As always, Kevin Spacey likes to play games with the minds of the audience, as he does again with this film. It's suspenseful nature coincides with Spacey's style of acting. However, this movie is far more predictable than Spacey's character should have let. It's a good movie, but not as well done as American Beauty.

J'ai adoré ce film. Imprevisible et touchant, interpelle la (in) justice américaine sur la peine de mort. Kevin Spacey was amazing...

Great movie with a typical Kevin Spacey 'twist' at the end. Excellent acting.

After seeing the number of newspaper reviews slamming this film I did not have very high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw as I found the film to be entertaining and the story was not predictable - plenty of good twists. Kevin Spacey portrays a very flawed character. Spacey sees to choose films where he plays real losers so I have a hard time liking him as an actor. Throughout this story Spacey's character David Gale makes many poor choices that cause his life go from bad to worse so I found it believable that this guy could make the choices that culminate in the outcome of the story. I also enjoyed the way the Texas criminal justice system was portrayed in all its self-righteousness. I am tempted to conclude that the reviewers who did not like this film did so because of their stance on capital punishment, which is the films major theme. But that would be cynical so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and conclude that they saw flaws in the film that I didn't see.
