Shakthi is an rocking film. A must watch. Nana is cool. Karishma is great. Sanjay is very good. Dpti Naval is good. Baadshah khan shahrukh khan stands out in a superb cameo.

Movie was totally boring... the movie make no sense... plz guyz if u want to waste your time and money go ahead and watch that movie but if u think your time is precious den plzzz dont watch it... whereas, songs are considered ther r also boring except "ishq kameena" that was a cool song... shahrukh did a gr8 job in the movie but rest of them were totally boring...

Read gk501's comment. I have same opinion as this viewer. This movie was a total stupitidity. It was boring and inappropriate violence scenes. Some body said it was better than Devdas. You can't compare these two. Devdas is a masterpiece and I think Shakti is realy a poor movie lacking everything. Director's poor skills are clearly displayed. Warning: "Dont waste your time".

Well the movie was great.. Nana Patakar's acting was excellent (psycho) and lovely dance with excellent chreography on the song ishq kamina... don't miss it!!!. Shah Rukh Khan was funny... Very emotional and touching movie...

I dont understand why everyone liked this movie so much. Sure Karishma's acting has majorly improved and Nana Patekar's acting was superb as usual, Sanjay did a fair job although there is room for improvement, I am a big ShahRukh fan but here he was a disappointment, the story was a rip-off of the American movie "Not without my Daughter", there is too much violence where there is none needed. I especially hated the scene where Karishma's character is brutally beaten up in front of the crowd. Karishma's character is tough but if you really look at it, she doesnt accomplish much on her own, which I think was what the movie was supposed to be about, but missed the point somewhere, she only gets out because Shah Rukh kills the bad guys and because Nana Patekar's character oh-so graciously permits her to leave. There is just to much melodrama and after a while it gets on your nerves. Bollywood movies are somewhat getting better but they have a long way to go still. I sat through it but would not recommend it to anyone, there are better Bollywood movies out there, really.

Terrific entertainment - movie is an epic - could have been cut into 3 though, very long sit at the theatre - loved the unusual camera angles, brilliant colour and Indian culture - my first Indian film - got a kick out of the melodramatic acting - as a whole, a fantastic change from American perspective - parts would appeal to every movie goer (chase scenes, explosions, romance, drama, musicals...) - the movie is a collage that worked really well together. A couple of detractions - theatre showed the film reels in the wrong order, and light coloured scenes with white subtitles were irritating.

Like my rating, worst movie I've ever seen. I was also disappointed in Khan's performance. Most of the film consisted of zoom shots, slow and fast of the leading actress, gasping, wailing, running (in slow motion) , pretending to hit someone, eating or just staring into the camera. She really annoyed me. Perhaps, this was because I was expecting acting as good as Madhuri Dixit or something. I was extremely disappointed. Even a cameo by Aishraya Rai failed to save this movie. Please save your money for the Devdas DVD or watch HUm Dil CHuke Sanam or something set in old India. Try Lagaan at Boite Noir!

Excellent movie -- it relates very well to my mom's story of her visit to India. Although guns and gangs are lil far fetched, the movie is true to a certain extent. My mom is a canadian and she suffered somewhat equal to the movie but no guns or gangs. Well taken. Aish was awesome even though she appeared for 1 song and 5 mins :( Sharook carried his part very well. The fathers role got my blood pumping and I dunno what his name is but he did a good job aggrevating me!!! Overall every parent who has a canadian or american child should see this movie :) Superb direction and execution of the plot :) Hats off to the Director.

It was a pretty good, but what made it an amazing movie was the fact that Shahrukh Khan was in it. Great acting on behalf of Karishma Kapoor, I really enjoyed watching her. Shahrukh was sooooooo funny. Great movie, don't miss it.

I thought it was quite good. Although there was quite a lot of fighting, which is what you would normally expect during the elections. But Nana Patakar was excellent (psycho) Shah Rukh Khan was funny, I reckon this is the film that Karishma Kapoor has done her best ever acting in, Sanjay Kapoor was also good. The film was quite sad and emotional.

It's certainly one the best films that I have seen. The emotions that Karishma potrayed is certainly gonna win her some awards... this is surely her breakthrough for her career... Shah Rukh played his role without ease... ash was hot! And Sanjay was doing his part perfectlly and the small cute boy needs so applause... the movie is just so grt8!

I guess that this movie, was awesomely put together and that in some way is very touching... but in the other end... putting comedy and drama together does not always work, well, not is this movie... alot of the scenes are very badly put together... the actors in the back don't have any idea what is going on... and that ruins the whole movie... but I loved karishma Kapoor's acting... she was the only one that really brought out the movie... but then I did not understand why shahrukh's picture is everywhere... in the posters and even on this site... ? He is nothing but a supporting actor, and furthermore he has nothing to do with the story... ok, he kills a couple of ppl but so what? Anyways, I think that the indian movie industry praises shahrukh khan way too much... but as someone has already said, congratulations to the indian movie industry to come up with a serious movie, evern though it is a remake of Not Without My Daughter. It wasn't that bad... it is just that some scenes in the movie are just killing... I guess that this movie like any other indian movie does not have scenes in which Music and dance performances are necessary but they just have to put it anyways... in this movie they just didn't know where to put it, so I guess that they just picked up a movie scene in random and then said that: here we are going to put a song... the songs are just put anywhere in the movie... sometimes the least you expect it, there is a song and everyone is dancing it juts killd the moment... anyways, my reviews for this movie is done... I think that taste really differs from person to person, I personnaly liked the story and hated everything else... but you might fall in love with the movie... two words: very superficial...

Shakti was a brilliant film. Nana Patekar did wicked acting as usual pschyco acting. Karishma did wonderful acting. Shahrukh is fantastic, Mad and funny with great dialouges. Aishwarya looked sooooooo Hot in the song Ishq Kameena. Must see.

Even though Indian critics are hailing Shakti: The Power as a breakthrough movie for Karishma Kapoor's career, the role isn't anything new. Kapoor is often cast for her ability to cry, scream, wail and overact. The movie also has too much drama, screaming and violence. The placement of the Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai duet for Ishq Kamina was misplaced: a testament to bad editing. I applaud Bollywood for trying to make a serious movie. In many ways it succeeded, but by making it too dramatic and milking it for more than it was worth, they completely destroyed the movie. Add that to an ending that nullified the entire plot and didn't make sense, and the movie becomes even more senseless. If you must watch the film, rent it.

Fantastic script, superb performances by Nana patikar, karshima kapure and shahrukh khan. Beautiful camera work and intelligent direction are the main elements of Shakti: the power. After ramgopal's Company Shakti is a good production. Welldone Sridevi.

Shakti a new nice and kool thriller thanks to amc caz of amc we can see some nice hindi movies like devdas and shakti the best bollywood actors are in this movie like Nana pateker, Karishma Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Sanjay kappor and Ashwariya rai I really like this movie thanks again for playing this movie.
