Fil assez triste, mais bien réalisé.. On peut percevoir la désespération d'un garçon qui veut à tout prix savoir qui est son père et le retrouver. Ça porte à réflechir.

I haven't seen any other movies by Almodovar, but I thought this movie was quite good. Obviously not a very fast-paced movie but it was different. I was sad to see the son die despite the foreshadowing and the fact that it was written on the back, mainly just because I thought he was interesting, wish the movie had shown more of the mother son relationship, and that we had more time to see him. I generally liked everyones performance, and the movie itself is worth checking out but I think the details need a little work.

I thought this movie was very interesting. It kept you interested from beginning to end. You didn't really know where this film was going but once it was over, you felt like it was well worth it.

Liked it very much. Loved the surprise ending even though it was a sad one.

It's a very interesting movie. It can be uplifting even when discussing very sad themes.

The more "human" of all Almodovar's films, deliciously sweet and sour. Agrado was brilliant and even Penelope Cruz is a good actress in there!

This movie speaks to everyone - whatever their gender, age or sexual orientation. It is a beautiful character study that stays with you long after you've left the theatre.

I absolutely loved this movie. The bond between the mother and her son, the sense of love, friendship, forgiveness... It was all very touching. The beauty of the characters emerged from the most sad circumstances. That life goes on even after the greatest pains, and that there is joy to be found wherever one can get it. There is a good lesson to be learned here. The women were certainly not "hollywood" types, but they were nonetheless glamorous and strong. Their beauty came from within. This was my first almodovar movie, i am certain it won't be the last.

This movie was one of the best foreign films I've ever seen, and I'm not a big foreign film fan. The wonderful emotions brought to the surface took me from ecstatic to pleasantly hopeful. Never before have I seen characters with such depth and purity of heart. Bravo!

Everything Almudovar does I love. His cast is always so well chosen and his scripts always so different but so close to the real life. It's a must see.

Well, personally, I don't think much of this movie. It was pretty boring and very confusing. If you like deep and intense movies, go see it. But I wouldn't recommend it.

The Almodovar fans will not be disapointed. The usual twisted sex/death mixture.

Maybe I took the film way too seriously, but I found this movie to be quite disturbing. A deadly car accident, a transexual in a lesbian relationship, transvestites, AIDS, etc.... sounds like a Jerry Springer show.

Great. Definately the most "mainstream" movie of his I have seen, but this is not intended as an insult.

The way Almodovar touch and awakes your feelings is amazing. That's why he is special. The way he aproaches the cinema is incredible, mixing in a nice balanced proportions the music, the acting, the photography, the edition... resulting a great film! He is always reaching the edge on the stories, he can be the most dramatic director at the same time as the funniest. His scence of hummor is so special, that the way of aproaching the drama can be surprising... Is a real picture of the life that not we all know or wanted to see, but in his special style he face us with a not so common reallity but incredibly true. Chapeau!!! It's more than a just good movie!

How can anyone with a modicum of interest in filmmaking can rate this movie anywhere below 5 is beyond me ! It's interesting to note though that most of these negative comments seem to come from young males... I guess the portrayal of such strong female characters must have made them uncomfortable. But enough cheap psychology. This movie is certainly one of the best I've seem this year - along with American Beauty. Excentric, almost caricatural characters, reminded me of Dali's paintings. I now want to see Barcelona - what a beautiful city ! I cringed only once - when the main actress cried one more time for her beloved son... but then again I'm no mourning mother so what do I know about that pain ? And the humour - very off-hand - so unlike the typical slap-stick american sitcom humor that pollutes the screens around the world. All in all a delicious movie.. both sustaining and refreshing.

It is a really good film. Not only the plot was interesting but the actors are really incredible! The director really knew the job, since the film was arranged in such way that my emotions shift from up and down. I did not know if I have to cry or to laugh. Hilarious! 9/10

Almodovar's most mature movie by far... A very beautiful reflection on women of all kinds. The classic almodovar's ingredients are still there but the movie manages to be both funny and sensitive at the same time, making us laught and cry all at once...

Another great Almodovar movie. This movie takes you through a wide range of emotions - one minute you're laughing, the next you're crying. With his characteristic sense of humour, Almodovar will get his audience to identify, laugh, cry, and feel for his characters - otherwise considered outcasts in today 's society.
