High Fedelity Starting John Cusack is a not just your average sub culture american film about a guy being dumped and him going through his past top 5 list of previous relationships. This film is a breakthrough book adaptation of one of the greatest stories ever written. Now being out of theaters for a while, I recomend at least renting it for the sheer nastolgica of it all When I first watched the film when I was 12, and have loved it ever since being 18 - so if it can live on 8 years and still being talked about then you know its an all star film! Cheers!

I think this is John Cusack's best film. Read the book afterwards, and found that the film captured the book's spirit wonderfully, despite being translated over the pond. The performance by Catherine Zeta-Jones was worth the price of admission.

I think Jack Black is the funniest person ever and that there shouldn't have been a lot of the main guy talking to the audience he made the movie gay.

For any semi-critical music fan this is a great movie! Cusack's neurotic, Black's hillarious, Robbins' scary and if you're up for paying attention the dry humour of the writing is hillarious and cute. Very romantic at times as well...

It's not something I would see more than once, but it was an pretty entertaining movie. Jack Black was hilarious.

John Cusack at his best. This interesting look at love and heartbreak will make you laugh and maybe bring a tear to your eye.

I really enjoyed this rather unusual film. Now I'd like to read the book and see how (and if) the story works without the creative visuals and accompanying music.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Big bombshell! I was really disappointed by this movie: not funny, not touching, not anything worthwhile. You just see a bunch of guys working at a record store belittling anybody who doesn't think like them or knows as much as them about music, and it's not even in a funny way! And they stand around making up "best five songs" lists that you can't even relate to: it's like an inside joke that nobody gets except the writers of the script. I'm sure the authors had a lot of fun making up the story and the lines, but whatever comedy there was in this movie for the public, you can catch it all in the movie's commercials. The love story was so-so, and the whole "monologuing" schtick was annoying. I recommend that you see something else or do something else than watch this movie.

Interestingly enough, this movie about 3 loser guys who have nothing better to do but complain and make up top 5s about everything in their life is very good. And it is not a guy movie only. My boyfriend and I equally loved it. Particularly good for the music lovers/freaks...

Not the best movie I've ever seen, or the worst. This would make a good rental. There are some very funny scenes, and the characters were interesting, but it was the same topic, men and women, discussed the same old way. And the main character was just a little too self-pitying for me.

I don't understand how anyone can give this movie a 2 or say it's the worst movie they ever saw. I loved this quirky film. It's smart and quick and fits John Cusack's persona perfectly. Maybe it depends on how you view this particular brand of humour. I won't mind seeing it again.

I was a little disappionted. I can't say that I laughed my head off because I didn't... but I had a smile on my face... that's better then nothing. Of course, I have always loved John Cusack, ever since I was a teenager and he played in this hilarious comedy... (the tittle eludes me...) and I knew he would become a star! Unfortunatly, I find that this perticular movie was slightly too long, the story a little dull... but, the actors were excellent in playing their role (except perhaps for Cusak's love interest...) I would recommend you see this movie in the comfort of your home after a long day of fun...

John Cusack is a clever actor and comes across as a very real person in this film, as do all the supporting characters. Unfortunately, this film will be rated by the masses as one of the worst movies they have ever seen because there was "too much talking, not enough violence and no car chases!" Reminded me a little bit of Annie Hall only with more of a younger edge. I hope it earns enough at the box office so Cusack can produce another.

What a fantastic movie. If you like quirky characters and you love music this is the movie for you. I loved it. John Cusack was amazing, as always!!! Jack Black stole all the scenes he was in. Go see it.

Well, if you're out to go see a comedy don't go. If you're out to go see a romantic movie, don't go either. If you're out to go see a boring movie, go... He he he No honestly wait for it to come out on video.

First of all, this is NOT a musical! I don't understand why it is classified as such... But I digress... I'll get to the point. It's not great, but it's not bad either. It should have been shorter, which would have made a huge difference in my opinion of it. I usually detest romantic films, so the fact that I didn't hate this one is a good sign. It does shed some light on the mentality of men, but then again it relies too heavily on stereotypes that are not true.

Being a person who rarely goes to movies I probably don't have a lot of credence to write anything. But, High Fidelity was witty, well thought out and put together. John Cusack was great as both actor and producer. A movie that shouldn't be missed...

High Fidellity was an OK movie. I wish my ex boyfriend would watch it. He is into finding this perfect love. Like it exists. It was a bit funny to see the mans side of it. I was looking for more humor. The funniest parts are in previews.

I don't particularly understand how anyone can give this movie a 2 or say it's the worst movie they ever saw. Actually, I loved this quirky film. It's smart and quick and fits John Cusack's persona perfectly. Maybe it depends on how you view this particular brand of humour which probably requires more brain power to comprehend than the general population is alloted <-- this comment fits nicely with the characters of the boys working in record store. Hey, in my opinion, this movie is a sleeper hit. Maybe i'll use it as an IQ gauge... Hm.

John Cusack definitely tackles interesting roles. I liked this movie a lot. If you liked Grosse Point Blank, I think you will like this one. As someone said earlier, the characters in this movie are very realistic. It's also very entertaining how John Cusack talks to the camera (us) and tells us about all his previous relationships... Oh yeah and funny guest appearance from Tim Robbins! In any case, if you like John Cusack and if you liked Grosse Point Blank, you should enjoy this movie. I know I enjoyed it!

John Cusack does a superb job of portraying a believable everyday guy. Sure he's a jerk sometimes, but isn't everybody? The movie is funny, the story is real and the acting is excellent. If you are a Cusack fan, this movie is a must see. If you're not, see it anyway - it's worth it.

Worse movie I ever saw!!! After wasting my money, we just laughed at ourselves for even thinking about seeing that movie. Even after the movie ended, I was trying to figure out the idea, the punch, or the values of this film.. Please, do yourself a favor, and DO NOT go there! in the whole 1:54, only 4 mins were good... one scene, and the END (cuz we had to leave)

Very realistic and clever. Full of funny, interesting and truthful comments about the nature of relationships. John Cusack and his 2 buddies are fantastic- and the ex-girlfriend is very likable.

High Fidelity is not one of but the worst movie I have ever seen. I would not recommend it. Very much a waste of money is what I would lable this movie. I mean, if you are going to create a movie that speaks of committment, atleast be creative and original. This movie was a waste because it lacked to creativity as well as originality that the author could/should have sought to emplement in the film. The video, is not even worth watching. Please people, take my advise. Do not, but do not see this movie...
