This epic film offers insight to growing up in Italy in the first half of the century. It's captures the trials and tribulations of family life as we wouldn't otherwise have privy to. From the first scene, I was entranced. An unpredicable, but very realistic movie.

You know what I Liked it, I didnt love it. Being Italian I thought I would have enjoyed it a little more BUT NO quite honestly I was a little disappointed. It just seems like alot of things in the movie could have been said and done quicker making it a shorter film rather than 3 hours long. I DO recommend this film and I WILL see part 2 but hopefully alot of the open-ended questions from the first part will be answered in the second.

Run, don't walk, to see this beautiful Italian film. The three hours pass quickly and they will leave you waiting impatiently for part 2 next week. If you want to see real people with real emotions, you don't want to miss this exceptional cinematic experience.
