It was a very good thought out movie.

I enjoyed it, it had a funny feel to it the whole way through, sort of dark undertone and some black humor, but still light in places. Meandered a bit in the middle, but is worth a look.

This movie was a complete waste of my time. It put me in a horrible mood. It was boring, pointless, depressing and at the same time I felt absolutely no sympathy for any of the characters in the movie because they all lacked personality. Not to mention the completely unessessary floppy tit scene. Um, why exactly was that even part of the movie? Probably to wake most of it's male viewers out of a comatose state, because it's not like any other content of this utter piece of sh*t movie would. Please, don't waste your time or money on this trash.

Flying fast food - only Nicholas Cage could make being hit a big hit. I love this man - he is such a versatile actor and should venture into comedy more often. I forecast a very successful season for this film.

Worth renting, psychological movie, slow at times but makes you think.

Very neutral movie. All storys that are introduced are quickly solved and then the main character continues on. This story seems to be trying to reflict life, however people don't go to the movies to see nothin happen.

Booorrring. Wow, I can't believe they spent over twenty dollars making this movie, and I can't believe I spent five renting it. Maybe I'm just sick to death of the "let's feel sorry for the upper-middle class who don't know why they exist" movies.

I like Nicolas Cage but this movie just didn't make him shine. This movie is not funny it has some witty parts, the funniest part is "camel toe". I wanted to walk out of the movie, it didn't keep my attention, the characters didn't really mature it just didn't have a climax. Life is what you make of it and sometimes you just have to leave it be and not try to mingle with it-maybe that's the point of the movie. Some people/audience might like this movie but I found it rather dull and thought of all the other useful things I could have done with my time. Movies should be entertaining, since that's what films are all about.

This is a comedy that requires you to think rather than have it handed it to you in the form of a pie in the face. Well, it does do that at times but this is one of the most sophisticated comedies in a long time. If you are too used to having to not think to understand a joke, don't go see it, you won't get it. But if you're up to the task of using your brains a bit in the movie, it's a great film.

I cannot believe I sat through the experience. The WORST! You go to movies to be entertained and this movie was absent of any entertainment, sense, raison d'être. It never got off the ground and was terribly boring and without purpose. Not worth the price of a rental let alone a first run movie. What a waste of time and money.

The overall message is good and it addressed many very controversial subjects, but it was a bit slow and contained way too much foul language.

An emotional roller coaster. If you're a Nicolas Cage fan - it's a must see. Well cast, superbly acted and a great script. I'd probably class it as a Chick flick though. No offence to you fellas, but the good stuff often gets lost on you!!

I really liked this movie. I thought Nicolas Cage did a great job as usual, and the funny parts were perfectly timed. If you didn't like the movie I envy you since it means you didn't understand it because you can't relate to the main character, who is confused and doesn't know where he fits in.

Life is never what we think or Hope it will be. Along with the gifts, we must take the disappointments. It just goes to show that no matter how successful one appears on the outside, he can be a mess on the inside. The movie is about accepting disappointment and moving on. It was wonderful.

Man, was this a crappy movie. Virtually everyone in the theatre was mumbling about getting their money back. Too much profanity, and waaay too little story. Some of the characters were barely developed, while other characters seemed to be stuck in a rut they couldn't get out of. I almost fell asleep. Absolutely craptacular.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The trailers are VERY misleading - this is NOT a comedy. Yes, the weatherman gets hit in the head several times by flying fast food, but the rest of the movie is a long, boring family semi-drama. How this movie got a "14A" rating is beyond me. Several of the characters drop the "F-bomb" repeatedly, and there's some skin as well. This movie was a big bacon double-suckburger. Michael Caine's character couldn't die soon enough. People walked out half way through. We stayed through the whole disaster, hoping that it would have some sort of revealing quality. It didn't. Avoid like the plague.

I have always enjoyed Nicolas Cage and I thought this movie was beautiful, touching and had very genuinely funny moments. If you are looking for cheap comedy like Anchorman, you will not get it here. But you will get a self-reflecting movie much like American Beauty that was very enjoyable and different.

This movie is a brilliant masterpiece, I feel sorry for those who wrote such bad reviews. I feel sorry for they are either too celf-centered or can't follow the movie's smart story line. It definitely isn't as much a comedy as it is claimed to be, however it does have its funny moments. Most importantly, this movie deals with real life issues and how dealing with them can be hard or easy based on how you live. [...] So if you can't stand a smart movie, or a movie so close to real life its amazing then stay away from nearly a quarter of the movies that exist in this world. Great movie, you'd never find Nicolas Cage or Michael Caine in a stupid movie.

Definitely not for everyone. It's artsy; a thinking man's movie. Absorbing, morbidly fascinating. Dave Spritz the weather man, whatever his failings, is somebody, he is there, he suffers, he hopes. A great character study.

If you ever feel the need to sit through two hours of Nick Cage's [...] this is the movie for you. The movies' premise, while not a bad one, falls apart under the dead-horse-esque beating it is given. Ok, we get it -- the American Dream isnt all it's cracked up to be. We didnt need two hours of stagnant plot and Cage's ranting to get that. Nick Cage, when properly directed, can be a brilliant actor; when left to his own devices, he is a train wreck of excessive self-indulgence. Caine was easily the best part of the movie, for the maybe five lines he had in the whole thing. Overall, this is possibly the worst movie Ive seen since Christopher Walken and Anne Heche's "Wild Side". Beware.

A complete waste of time and money. This is the first movie I have left during. I watched approx 1 hour and left for fear that if a fell asleep I may never wake up and be trapped in the plot forever. Thid truly is a disaster movie and deserves to be placed in the garbage or worse. Please do yourself a favour and watch paint dry for more interest and excitement.

I'm not surprised many people didn't like this movie. It was an excellent character study; a powerfully subtle examination of the american dream. It was unpretentious, unformulaic, unfunny, yet peppered with a wry sense of humour. It was challenging and disconcerting. Of course, I'm sure many were fooled by the cast, a typical suspense/action/thriller ensemble; unfortunately for those who expected a blockbuster got an introverted indie film instead. Tough luck.

I think this movie is very well done. Cage and Caine did great. Cage is really funny. And it carries a nice message, not revolutionnary, but still. This is how I saw the movie: you have Caine, the father who lived an honorable life, who always did the right decision and there's his son, Cage who is struggling with his interpersonals relationships. A movie that inspire people to go back to real values, in a world where sex and brands take more and more space.

A problem with good movies is that they are often not real. This movie is real. A problem with real movies is that they are often not good. This movie is no exception. And yet, at every moment of this film that I was not laughing, which was most of it, I was incited to think, and think well. And in the few moments that I wanted to laugh, it came genuinely, like a mother's smile when holding her newborn. Was this a bad movie? Between you and me, yes. But between me and me, no... it was right, to the very last frame.

Whoever says this movie has poor acting doesn't know anything about acting. If you expect tosee a super funny comedy, then don't go see it or you'll have the same "it's boring" opinion. I didn't really find it boring, I thought it was a great film. If you want to watch it but all you like is constant action, take some ritalin, relax a bit, and you might enjoy it. Great story, very good acting, If Nicolas Cage was a weatherman, I'd completely believe it. And as mentioned before, very nice cinematoraphy, The way everything looks totally matches the mood of the movie. Couldn't have done it better myself. I don't want to say too much about the point of the movie, and if you intend to see it don't read too much below this line, it's not really spoilers just, stuff you might not want to know, but I think the point is that success does not exaclty mean happiness, and to make people think about what really is the "american dream" (or any similar term used in other societies, the ideas can easily be transfered) and personally, I thought it was a pretty funny movie. Funny, but sooo true. Some people just can't get things to always work the way they imagine it would. And I really related to that..

These days enough films contain actual character development, let alone allow themselves to be driven by a charater study rather than pace or action or humour. This movie is brilliant but yes, it is a downer. Is it entertaining? Maybe, maybe not. Is it provoking and interesting? Yes, without a doubt. The movie won't make you cheer but it sure will make you think and feel... if you let yourself get into it. This is an excellent movie! Who says that big stars and big production values can't be in an artsy film? Go see it but be in the right mood at the time.

Yo, I got tickets for the première of this film. What a flop. Go see it if you have insomnia & can't fall asleep any other way! Nicholas Cage at his most uninspiring. There's one excellent part which is a montage of random people throwing things at him. That's exactly what you feel like doing! In short, if you get free tickets & you're feelin'like a bad movie for the evening, enjoy The Weatherman.
