I like this director's other movies like CHUNGKING EXPRESS and FALLEN ANGELS but didn't really like this one. The story is confusing. I hope he goes back to making stuff like CHUNGKING.

It was hard to catch up the story from past time to present time at the beginning, but it was nostalgic and beautiful picture.

Great movie! Beautiful pictures! It's like enjoying a good bottle of red wine when you watch the movie. Hard to understand? It depends, it's all about love and feelings.

Totally not the straightforward Hollywood kind of movie... difficult to understand for the first time, different people have different feeling, and understanding... worth seeing anyway.

There are very few directors, if any, left still willing to invest so heavily into making a film look so beautiful. He takes much care in presenting his visual style, which is just as much a part of his filmaking as anything else. The story is slow, the characters moody, and not much happens to enlighten the world over; but the visuals are so carefully crafted, every scene dripping with style, that it's impossible not to love this movie for what it is - a collection of simple, beautiful pictures. (with perfectly matched music. )

This movie is not for everybody. Wait for the DVD, so that you can watch it 10 times to understand the story.

Come and fly with me. Kar Wai Wong is a genius."2046" is a masterpiece. One of the best movies from Hong Kong. Peace!

If you like confusing, thought-provoking, philosophical movies, you might like this one. Definitely not a sci-fi. It is a poem written on film and sung to beautiful music. You get as much out of it as you put in. You have to work at it. It has to touch your own deeply personal experiences. If you have not lived the life of the character in some small way, you will have no idea what this movie is about. If you have, then you will forgive its shortcomings.

Apart from Zhang Ziyi's horrid acting and the parts where she's involved in the story and storytelling that might be a bit too metaphysical for its own good, 2046 proves to be a gorgeous and emotionally resonant (for the most part) movie that may or may not be a sequel to In the Mood for Love.

Wow, this is really a very wonderful film with a plot that left me taken aback. The entire cast delivers a phenomenal performance that really deserves an Oscar. I really liked Tony Leung's performance.

Interesting movie but extremely slow moving. Moody and abstract in many ways. I was expecting more.

A exquisitly filmed movie which keeps you fascinated even though the pace may seem a bit slow. Definitely go see this movie for its style, even if you haven't seen the prequel "In the mood for love".

Nicely done movie with adequate tempo and actors/actresses. A good sequal to "In the Mood for Love".

If this movie were an animal it would have neither head nor tail and a lot of nothing in between. There was no plot, no action and the dialogue was pathetic. A waste of time. Avoid at all costs. I'm sure the "Deuce Bigalow" movie is better because it would elicit some reaction, while in this movie you just wait for something to happen and it never does.
