Beautiful scenery, and a wonderful story. If you are a naturalist in anyway, you have to see this movie.

Wonderful movie because of the spectacular scenery. Some elements were reproduced (near drowning, etc.) to capture attention but I would have enjoyed more photos and interaction with the animals and trapping life style etc..

I'm glad I saw this movie, it's touching and a treat for the eyes with the georgeous Yukon landscapes. Not your Hollywood type fake movie.

Beautiful images that really made me want to go visit the northern parts of Canada. The harsh life of a trapper is well demonstrated and the sled dogs are cute. However, the transparently manipulative messages ("oh, the price of fur is going down, there is not enough demand", "trappers are essential to nature"!! ) were totally unnecessary and I truly disliked the "I tell the animal why I had to kill it" hippy bullshit when the guy's job involve breaking animals legs in a barbaric trap and having them die there after a few hours of futile attempts at escaping... Not that I have anything against trapping per se (massive commercial animal farming is worse) but come on! "Acting" is obviously amateurish and sometime even cringe-worthy but since these are real people, their honesty and personal charisma makes up for it. Plus the dogs are pretty good actors too ;-) Some of the dialogs are also very funny ("No drinking in Dawson Norm! " - 30s later we see Mr Winther drunk and singing in the bar ;-))

People start getting out of the theater after 30 min or so, for my part, this movie, coz it's not a DOCUMENTARY but a MOVIE, yeah this movie was ok, REALLY CHEEZY some time, but it was funny at least. The big point of the movie was to show us someone in perfect balance with nature... but it failed miserably, seeing a man who kill animal to sell their fur, and believing he's a important part of nature because he kill to make a balance in the nature... come one, he's been brainwashed, the animal was fine before he was there, and they'll be after too. At first it look like a documentary, but after 15 min, a dog die, look for this one, you have a big face shoot of the driver while he's running over the dog... everything is too plan, even the part with the bear... Anyway, if you want to see wild canadian space, and beautiful scenery, this film is ok, but wait the DVD, don't waste your money on that.

This was an excellent documentary on "The Last Trapper" What impressed me the most was the breathtakingly beautiful scenery and those amazing dogs, especially Nanook and Apache. Their way of life was quite different and a learning experience for me. Worthwhile documentary!

Les images sont à couper le souffle. Par contre, si vous recherchez une histoire ou même un vrai contenu documentaire... peut-être seriez-vous mieux avec autre chose. Quand même pas si mal.
