This film was a real treat! What a great story of love, hope and the power of staying positive. The film is quite comical but has a sense of sadness especially in the scenes where the audience is witness to the often brutal and violent effects of alcoholism in a family household. I love Laura Dern and although her part was small it is quite memorable.

The movie made me cry so much! This is the best movie I have seen this year. The emotional depth of Evelyn Ryan's role was not overplayed. It's about time Julianne Moore wins her academy award!
