Yeah-it was kind of stupid, but I really liked it! It was funny to see some not-quite-super-heroes! The Bowler kicks butt and I liked the Shoveller (I shovel well) and the Blue Raja. Great music, costumes and effort put forth by the actors.

[...] This is a very funny movie that is not crap. This movie is a kick ass comedy with action and fun. It is worth seing. It has big star but poor rating. Why? I while tell you why. Some people won't real fighting not comedy fighting. Those people don't know what they are missing out on.

It was a little slow getting started, but it did end up being a fun little adventure of the poor and down-trodden hero-wannabes :) Even if the characters were a little TOO silly at times, guys like The Shoveler and The Bowler made up for it :) (I think we could have done without the zit-infested ex-PeeWee Herman, though...)

I went in expecting something pretty bad. Usualy when a comic book is put on the big screen it loses something, but not this time. This movie is no TANK GIRL, but funny and fast-paced none the less. Wasn't bored once!

I loved this movie. Mystery Men is an extremely funny super-hero parody with an excellent cast and a great script. I've already seen it twice, so I know it stands up to repeat viewings, (I may be up for a third round.) Although some of the jokes are comicbook related, most are not, thus, if one is intelligent and observant enough to catch the subtle wit and charm of this film, one should enjoy it immensely. So many comic book related movies suck, that it's nice to see one done right. I haven't enjoyed a movie this much in a very long time.

I really enjoyed Mystery Men. Champion City has a "Blade Runner on Piccadilly Circus in Tokyo" feeling and I missed so many gags because I was looking somewhere else. Yet I noticed so many things that were probably meant as inside gags. In Champion City, cops drive Plymouth Chargers (is it a wink to Dukes of Hazards?). I will have to see it again for sure! BTW, people on cinéma Montreal tend to rate movies as if they have only seen two movies in their whole life. There are other ratings between 1 and 10. Very few movies deserve a 1 or a 10, yet those seem to be the most common vote!

I thought it was an okay movie. I can't say that it will win an Academy Award but it had its moments. The theatre's cool sound effects was what really kept me interested.

Mystery Men is one superhero movie ment to be funny that actually is. For he who doesn't know what Mystery Men is all about, it's a group of wannabe-superheroes with unusual talents (except for a couple who actually DO have powers) with the help of an arsenal of non-lethal weapons out trying to rescue Captain Amazing (btw: something extremely funny happens to him). The only character I find at times annoying was Mr. Furious (who has the ability to get very, very angry). Janeane Garofalo is funny as hell, Paul Reubens (aka Pee-Wee Herman) will make you crap in your pants (especially his love scene), Hank Azria is another great addition to the team. Another great part of the movie is the audition for superhero-wannabees, where you meet the weirdest superheroes ever. Well, go see the movie then decide for yourself how many times you want to see it again.
