For years I've believed it possible to make a totally electric car, and for years I've believed that the petro chemical companies, and auto manufacturers would never let that happen. There is the proof! Perfect movie. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!

This movie should be seen by anyone who still believes that countries are run by government and not the power/dollars of the oil companies. It may help you decide that your next vehicle should be better for our quickly dying environment. Maybe people with Hummers & huge SUV's & pickup trucks could stop being so selfish & ignorant about the air we all breath. Marketing co's brainwash you into believing that bigger is cooler. Wake UP!!!

Some films deserve a 10 for the storyline, some for the film-making, some for the acting, some for the idea; I think if I had to say why I am giving it a 10, it is largely for the message, of course, the daring and daunting act of revealing the truth of the capitalist tyranny in which I see that we live. I also found the film-making of top quality, the people (cannot call them actors because it is a documentary) were great, and it was surprisingly captivating!

No need to tell us something that we know already. Beside when people will see this movie they think they're saving the world! If want to that start by using the bus or recylcing everything, do composting not buy a cheaper car because you need more money in your account! Besides, me, you and mostly everyone will lose there jobs, of course it fixes the environment but it doesn't help to put food on the table when we don't have a job.

A worthwhile viewing, will change your mind about all electric cars versus hybrids or fuel cells. Electric cars are cheaper to use, to build, to buy, and last ten times longer. However it is basically a rehash of large corporations deciding what the consumers will use, and having more power than governments. Going with electric cars will hurt the economy, loss of jobs. Clean air is not that important. Movie does an excellent job of pointing these things out. Not just one side of the argument too. Many critics against the electric car speak out too. FWIW, some very good electric cars are coming to market next year, not made by the Big 5. I will be trading in one of my two cars for one, the other being a hybrid..

AWESOME MOVIE. Go see it now. It reminds me of "Tucker" and other movies where greedy people are holding back innovation. This movie ought to inspire you to investigate alternative energy sources. Perhaps in this new age of the Internet, we can see the success of new and bright ideas that will break the stranglehold the oil companies have on us. I have a personal experience where an acquaintance built a very high mileage gas engine as a school project. The project was purchased by Shell and never was seen again. (this was in the 1950s) Another similar incident happened in 1957 when a Canadian chemist discovered a formula and process to de-vulcanize rubber so used tires could be recycled. Imagine the environmental impact! One day the chemist mysteriously vanished. How many other untold stories are there? Go see this movie. It will make you think!

Everyone needs to see this film! It was very well presented. The director presented all sides to this issue (but at the end, did give an honest opinion on the blame of the death of the electric car with his guity/not guity stance) It started off with a symbolic funeral with one of the best electric cars ever designed, the GM EV-1. It is just plain heart-breaking to see what GM did to these beautiful cars. We really understand the reasoning behind all the actions that occur. He gives us the history of the electric car, the parties involved (oil industry, the car manufacturers, the battery-makers, the bush industry, etc) and interviews with celebrities that had leased these cars. This is a film that even Michael Moore would be pround of (except, it starts off more objective than he is in his films) I just wish that it was playing at more cinema's and that it should be presented in French for the French-speaking Quebec population. But I LOVED it. And I will buy it when it comes on DVD. But go see this film NOW and see why there are not any electric cars on the road today!

It seems menacing how wonderful ideas are killed at the start. Film demonstrates the zero emmission initiative in California, which started in 1996 and ended in 2006. Is there any hope that electric cars will come back? Do they win against the lobby of oil companies, car companies, government officials? Well, let's hope yes... the ice is melting in Arctica and it is melting very fast.

So, who really killed the electric car: the oil companies, the government, the car companies..., who? Nevertheless, it is gone, at least for now. Forget the USA, their true value (almost) is $$$ not the environment. Im betting on foreign countries to lead us on to new environmentally clean technology... maybe Japan, France or even China!?!

Good film! It was a lot better than I thought it would be; I thought it would be all conspiracy theorists against oil companies but it was surprisingly in depth, perceptive and interesting. I would recommend it to anyone interested in cars, political/environmental issues, or talking heads. Or a combination of all three.

Tjis movie is really a true informative documentary & a strong slap in the face to the car manufacturers & petrolium cie. It shows us as consumers how ridiculous we create & destroy for nothing! Everyone should see this movie; I recommend it to be shown in classroom in school as well. Good reflection on human behavior & how money is our only objective... A+.

What a shame! I have looked at all the other electrical cars, and nothing comes close... Well, we'll see where this whole thing takes us... But I kind of thing the best solution is the Hybrid rechargable, yet now, not later...

I am driving an authentic electric pickup almost everyday and it is pleasure to feel the difference. The noise, the waste and the amount of pollution generated by the electricity needed to recharge the batteries is insignificant compared to the greenhouse gas emission of one single gas powered lawn mower. In a few weeks my electric vehicle will be charged off-grid with solar panels and then
I will have done my share. The Federal Government of Canada and the Provincial Government of Ontario ordered careful restrictions on electric cars and electric bikes, claiming all kinds of risks and dangers. One importer of electric cars in Toronto was ordered to destroy his samples last year and electric cars (made in Vancouver) were removed from Ontario Parks and Parks Canada, to be replaced by gasoline 4 stroke engines ATV. How do I feel after viewing the movie? It is only a matter of education like everything else. Every one of us must learn to make the difference and we offer free information sessions to learn about conversion from gasoline to electric for mowers to snowmobiles, including cars, boats and bikes. We can make the difference with solar, wind and water energies without disturbing our nature. We have one life and one single planet to live on. What will be the cost of survival in only ten years from today if we do not take a stand for the difference? Please show this movie Who Killed the Electric Car? in schools and universities. It will do its job and you will gain been the only theater to promote it. Allow the E. V. S., the D. E. V. As. And the E. A. A. s to distribute informative brochures. JPF.
