Nim's Island is my favorite movie and I love it. Abigail Breslin is a fantastic actress and she was perfect for the role!

This movie was very entertaining and the scenery was also very nice, it almost made you feel like you were there with them.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I liked this movie because it is about an 11 year old girl who solves a lot of problems on her own. She can only use the stuff you can find on an Island. She has a lot of friends who are animals like a sea lion and a lizard. It was amazing that she could survive on her own without any adult care. It was sad when her dad almost drowns. It's also sad when she got a long cut on her leg.

Fabulous movie for girls... a movie whose main characters are an 11 year old girl and an adult woman... I loved the role modeling for my daughter. It is full of adventure, surprise, problem solving and imagination... and here is not a tween fashionista, or highschool musical/rock camp moment in sight!

I liked everything about this movie. It was funny and exciting, a true adventure.

I hated this movie! It was waaayyy boring and, although the animals were cute the plot is dumb. Sure, leave your 11 year old alone on a deserted island for a "few days" and go look for glowing sea water... she'll probably be fine. Maybe do a little rock climbing and chat with "Alex Rover" on the internet... and how do you get internet and phone service on a "DESERTED ISLAND" anyhow? This movie is okay if you are 7 or 8 but anyone over the age of 9 would be siting there waiting for it to end... I know I was. Abigail was a very good actress, but she had such a bad role... she should audition for better movies in the future. [...]

It is not the best movie out there but the action and awesome actors do even it out.

It was a good movie. I also read the book. The book is from so long ago though. I can't believe the movie is playing now. I think they should of had it a little while after the author of Nim's Island wrote the book and not now. But it's a good movie: its really worth watching if you can't decide on what to watch. You will love the movie. Enjoy!! ♦♣♠•◘○◙♥☻☺♂♀♪♫☼

This was a wonderful family movie. If you remember it is a family film, it is a very entertaining movie. I'm a great Gerard Butler fan and Jodie Foster was fantastic.

Well written. Solid script. Great acting. Nice family feel good movie. Pretty landscapes. Not enough coverage of the animals. A couple dramatic parts lasted waaay too long. Not much action, fun nice.

I have 3 syllables for you... HORR-I-BLE. This is one of the worst I've ever seen, AND I'M A CHILD! Yeah, sure, the animals were cute and it was all perfect rainbows and sunshine at the end, but the hero (Alex Rover ((Jodi Foster))) comes wayyy too late and by the time she gets there, nothing needs to be done. I think the only one who fits in this movie is Abigail. This movie is perfect, however, for parents with VERY young children (they will love the animals) Verdict: Skip this unless you have an out-of-control toddler on your hands.

A cheesey family film. Kids deserve better than this. There was potential here, but the story falls so flat and Jodie Foster over does it in an over the top performance that comes across more annoying than comedic. I'm sure some kids will enjoy it as there are some good moments, but overall a mediocre family film. (C-)

Good Clean Family movie. Has a flavour of Swiss Family Robinson and Romancing the Stone. I thought it was entertaining and had a good message.

In the beginning I thought it was mildly entertaining but the more I thought about it, the more it irked me. The story structure was incoherent. It's not clear from whose point of view the story is being told as we see everything going on - leaving no surprises. I realize it was a kids movie - which I usually enjoy - but it lacked imagination. It had potential but if it had stuck to one story line. Very disappointing.

I actually want to give this movie a 6.5, I was wanting to see it for some time and when I finally did was a bit disappointed, Jody Foster was not the right person for the role she was playing, although she is typically great, she didn't seem to really 'fit' the role. Other than that Nim's Island is a good family movie for all ages.

That movie is fantastick. I am a girl that loves adventures in a movie. And the movie Nim's Island has more adventure that I thought there would be. Now I find that the movie is my favorite. I love the animals in the story. The house that was in the new discovered island with Nim and her father. It was well decorated. My mom laughed when the lisard went in Alex Rover's face. So did I.

It was a good movie but it was also very emotional. The island was beautiful and the sea lion was sooo cute. The special effects weren't great. I think Nim did such a good job acting. Go see it now!

This was a very entertaining movie, with lots of funny parts that even an adult would laugh out loud about. Jodie Foster's character was quite amusing with all her phobias and her amazing imagination. My big complaint about this movie was that it ended so abruptly - it should have gone on for another 30 minutes to wrap things up with the characters.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The best part of this movie was the first 5 minutes, it went down hill after. I walked out after roughly 1 hour, for I had enough. The premise was promising, the acting very, very disappointing. I obviously expected far better from Jodie Foster, who seems to be facing a late life crisis as I cannot fathom any other reason for her to stoop so low as to attempt to depict herself as Kathleen Turner's character of Joan Wilder (Romancing the Stone) And so if this is suppose to be a children's movie, what values are we promoting exactly (not to mention anything about parenting skills): for starters, have no respect for wildlife (catapult lizards, they'll be O. K.), go climb cliffs alone without proper equipement or technique, life on a deserted island is O. K. because you'll have your cell phone and computer, and daddy will take off for a few days... and my favorite, its O. K. to chat with perfect strangers on the internet and let them know you're an 11 year old girl all alone. And what would Hannibal Lechter think of Jodie Foster now? Would he find her rude? She trivializes people that have psychiatric disorders, such as agarophobia. After all, agarophobic Jodie Foster was able to get out of her house and go halfway across the world in less than an hour to rescue a poor lone 11 year (fortunately not in Thailand) that she met on the internet. I recommend this movie for everybody that dreamed about Home Alone on Fantasy Island and tarts that enjoy phoney brit/aussie accents and a happy ending.

It has great scenery and a couple of mildly funny points. Otherwise, it's fluff, from start to finish. Not much happens, no lessons are learnt, the ending comes abruptly and is a little too perfect, even given the genre. I would describe this film as a fairy tale made of air bubbles and pretty thoughts... nothing more.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Nim's Island was so excellent with the cute animals that helped Nim. Nim especially loved Alex Rover, a man that saved Nim from the Bioneers. The Bionneers were destroying Nim's Island so Nim needed help from her animal friends. It's such a wonderful movie. Everyone in your family should see it!

Wholesome family entertainment! The story-line is abit corny but lots of laughs (Jodie Foster is actually very funny!) The animals are cute and funny and Gerard, with a scruffy "Indiana Jones" look provides the eye candy.
