I was a little worried about this movie, as the book was a bit weak. But I was pleasantly surprised, the movie is better than the book. Good stories, sexy men, and a happy ending. What more can you ask for? Go with the girls - this is definitely a chick-flick.

I knew nothing about this movie and was pleasantly surprised. Great movie and great cast. I wanted to join a book club afterwards.

I was not familiar with all of the Jane Austen novels before seeing this movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great cast, nice pacing. I'm eager to see it again on DVD, to catch some of the clever dialogue I missed and hopefully it will include some bonus featurettes/interviews etc.

This is, not surprisingly, a chick flick - with its concentration on feelings, connection and relationships. A pleasant way to spend the better part of two hours. Somewhat predictable, but romantic.

Good variety of characters and acting was done well but unless you've read Jane Austen's books, you will be lost at times.

Very sweet film, the characters are good, the acting was really good, music was well chosen. I haven't read Jane Austin but I'll probably do it since I left the movie so inspired to do so. I recommend.

Movie was good but I wish they wouldn't have tied everything up in little bows at the end. That was a bit too much.

So agreable so nice and in touch with the pleasure of reading and it relates to how people feel about Jane Auten's book.

Irritating at first but almost enjoyable by the last reel. An interesting ensemble approach to Austen with our cast mirroring plot points in the novels. It features the usual convention of dimwitted men gradually emancipated by exposure to the author admits sublime feminine bonding. Ho hum.

Two hours of politically correct upper middle class pretension, apparently designed to let lesser folk know that affluent people's problems can be really, really interesting. Gimme a break. The acting is excruciating. Jimmy Smits was a lot more authentic when he was falling off his chair in The Aristocrats. And Maria Bello... let's just say she was way better in Assault on Precinct 13.

Interesting how the titles of the books being reviewed (in the film) were in sync with what was going on in the characters' lives at the time. Prudie's 'relationship'/non-relationship was rather weird and did not contribute to the storyline much. We saw into the souls of the other women, though. Any female watching this film will have experienced a little of what each character did. The lone male added depth to the plot and eye candy. Worth seeing more than once.

I Must say I really wanted to see this movie because I thought it was going to be a cute romantic comedy, oh but it turned out to be so much more I mean trully inspiring I mean I got chills most of the movie. I would help if u read some of Jane Austen's books but even if u didnt they wrap it up a bit for you so it's not a big deal if u didnt read the books. A Must see I have to say.

I liked it! It was exactly what I expected it to be, light, sweet romantic comedy with a "Jane Austin" ending! Leave the boys at home this one is strictly for the girls.

There was something for everyone who's in a relationship, thinking about a relationship, getting out of a relationship or just plain thanking God that they are not in a relationship! What witty lines. Can't wait to see it again.

Enjoyable film. A little too much blabbering at times but I guess it goes with the Jane Austen territory. Strange thing though that the person that seems to have the best insight in the psychology of the fictitious characters is the only man in the club. I also thought that the story between Prudie and Dean was a little bit rushed, especially at the end, and in fact believe they should have been more central to the whole film as they certainly had the most interesting dynamic. All that to say that this film is like a Jane Austen book; very rich in human psychology and drama and will grasp different people differently, but it will grasp them. A film to watch more than once at different time in your life, again, just like a Jane Austen novel.
