I loved the movie. It was a heart-warming story, well told, which poignantly reminds us of both our need to be loved at a personal level and be loved (accepted) by society. A great film to see with someone you love.

Entertaining, funny and thought- provoking... don't let the gay stuff turn you away.

Breakfast with Scot was exceptional! It brings out many stereotypes within today's society regarding sexual orientation. Although Noah Bernett's character (Scot) was blown out of proportion at times, the film was hilarious. Definitely a must see for a Canadian movie.

While this film is not going to win any academy awards it does do an excellent job of reminding us all, no matter what our sexual orientation, that we all tend to try and live our lives over, correct our mistakes, erase our shortcomings or embarrassments and achieve redemption through the micromanagement of our children's lives. It does this by taking a unique look at what a gay couple would do if they were to raise a gay child and I think that no matter how enlightened we think we are, or would be, it approaches the subject realistically and in a warm hearted and humorous fashion. In the end I think it was another important step on the road towards normalizing being gay and being a gay parent.

Acting is terrible, jokes aren't funny, there's no chemestry between the gay couple... you don't even believe for one second that they could be gay in the first place! Looks and feels like a made-for-tv movie that got loose.

It was a great movie. I really enjoyed the acting and many significant and interesting moments within this story. It is incredible how stereotypes can affect us in so subtle ways no matter how immune we think we are. Tom Cavanagh's acting was really good.

Breakfast with Scot is a funny, endearing film. Its progressive message is presented with an appropriately light touch. Never preachy, it can at times be quite poignant. While it occasionally verges on farce, the weight of its more serious themes pull it back down to earth. Tom Cavanagh and Ben Shenkman play a believable, likeable gay couple who find themselves in the very unexpected position of guardians of an 11 year-old boy named Scot. As played by Noah Bernett, Scot seems a little obnoxious at first, but as he grows on his guardians, he also grows on the audience and wins us over. The couple serve as straight men to the boy's more exaggerated, comedic performance but they still share some of the best lines in the film, delivered in a dry, deadpan style. Tom Cavanagh is an adorable blend of machismo and softness, often saying so much just with his gorgeous, expressive blue eyes. Ben Shenkman is sharp and insightful, his timing always bang-on. The supporting cast help to flesh out the story and add laughs. Even the film's biggest jerk, as played by Colin Cunningham, is entertaining and a bit likeable. The film also displays some of the most clever, inventive and seamless blending of credits ever devised.

When I heard this movie reviewed on the radio, I knew I should see it, but I would never have guessed just how hilarious and heart-warming it would be. Completely different, but totally believable thanks to incredible acting and screenplay. Definitely a must-see.
