Who doesn't like Indy? This action film gives you a rid of laughs and action, a very excellent film by George and Steven Spielberg. Watch for the gang to be reunited in Indy 4, coming in 2008.

My ex g/f had this as her favourite movie of all time so I've watched it plenty. This is the kind of movie that, even today, audiences immediately fall in love with. It has all the right ingredients: a smart script, a likable (sp? ) hero, a dash of romance, more than a touch of comedy, and a lot of fast-paced action. Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the most deliriously funny, ingenious and stylish American adventure movies ever made. The movie is just plain fun. Ford, in a career-minting performance, establishing a character actual superior to Han Solo. Indiana Jones is coy, impertinent, imperfect, phobic of snakes and agnostic (describing the Ark's magic as "the power of God or something") What more could you ask for? :) Raiders Of The Lost Ark was the first in the Indiana Jones trilogy, and it can be argued that it changed the course of filmmaking for the better part of a decade. We've been talking alot lately about Taratino changing the course of filmmaking. It may or may not be true with him, but it's definitely evident by this movie. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's classic movie did not invent adventure, as it was largely inspired by old serials, pulp magazines and B-movies, but it certainly revamped our conception of big screen adventure. Spielberg can never top this. Period.
