Starts off more as a comedy and slowly becomes serious towards the end. Some people may find it awkward to adjust. Good music. Good story substance. It feels drawn out towards the end, but it doesn't hurt the movie too much.

I loved this movie so much. Besides the fact that Marc-André Grondin is an unbelievably sexy man and I enjoyed every second that he was on my television screen the movie was a masterpiece it was very moving it had heart and it had a really good moral behind it all. I am definitely going to be buying it as soon as I can.

Wow! I loved this film. It had a pretty expanded timeline but it didn't feel long and boring. The first time I saw it I couldn't get the subtitles to work, and despite my slight French education I could understand nothing, I still thought it was amazing. The second time when I actually knew what they were saying, the actions were just given more punch. This was an absolutely great movie, enjoyable, fun, I definitely plan to own it.

A great movie that brings out the true Quebec mentality for everyone to see. As long as you have some basic knowledge about the 70ths, you will love this one. If you are borned in the 80ths, don't see it. You will simply not get it...

Once I sat down to watch the movie, I couldn't move from my chair. I was completely engrossed. As a child born in the 1960s I completely identified with the music, clothes, and the times! Excellent movie.

Great movie. I don't speak French so I had to watch it with subtitles and I am so glad it is available in blockbuster. Just an amazing reflection on a family in Quebec during the 60s/70s and among other things gives subtle hints of Quebec's identity crisis as well. Each one of the performances was amazing. Must see!

What a beautiful film. I love the descriptive changes the movie presents. The music in the film only adds to the moods set by the actors. The family in the movie is a realistic type, so the viewer can relate. This movie is definitely worth watching. I am in love with it!

I watched this (hilarious) film with my 40-year-old husband and the entire time he was like, "Oh my God, my room was painted like that! My hair looked just like that! I had the EXACT SAME PANTS!! " It's a wonderful film, especially for those of us born in the early 60s.

I went to this movie without reading any reviews and basically not knowing anything about the story at all. About 20 minutes into this movie, I knew I was watching something special and by the end, I felt like standing up and singing. Why this wasn't nominated for an Oscar is beyond me. The acting is superb, the sceenplay sophisticated and the cinematography is outstanding. Great soundtrack as well. AMAZING!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I find the film interesting in that it related well to current healing power (quantum physics) topics that are gaining acceptance with some groups. Also interesting how the film related visually to a connected universe, that is part of the new age quantum physics vision. It explained well, through characterization, how most individuals are stuck in their 'real' world (the father), and it's perceptions of what should be, rather than being open to new possibilities (in the idea of having a gay son, who understands that this is his path in the universal consciousness, but is in denial of it in the 'real' world. When Yvan breaks the Patsy Cline record once again at the end is a way of conveying that the universe is repeating it's self over and over again, as it 'changes'. Hence history is in a way, repeating itself. Having this premise, the father will probably treat Yvan the same way he treated the gay son. The father kept alluding at times, when his children make him look good, that they get that from his side. This is narcissitic behaviour in my opinion. It was the mother who was in touch with the universe, and in so doing washing her face in the sink, while her son was perishing in the desert in Israel reveals that connection between space, water and molecular structure. Some of you may think I"m completely wacko... go ahead, think what you will.

When we went to watch this movie, it was a saturday night, and usually my husband and I do more exciting things... like go to the restaurant, go clubing,... anyway, all this just to tell you that we didn't regret at all going watching Crazy, which we both found entertaining, touching and funny!! What I really appreciated in this movie was the family contact;whatever happens between them, they will always be there for eachothers, no matter what. I appreciated that because I think we have lost those values in this new Occidental culture. The only time we actually meet, is for Christmas, that's it! Anyway, merry Christmas to all of you reading my comment, and go watch the movie during your holidays, you won't regret it...

This movie made no sense - it had no focus or momentum. It's a mix of half-baked themes, none of which is elaborated to any degree of satisfaction. Is it about coming out? Father-son relationships? Sibling relationships? Christian mysticism? After a while, I stopped caring. Integrating Bowie and Pink Floyd is no substitute for an actual plot.

Absolutely brilliant. Inspired casting, brilliant script, tremendous acting, flawlessly put-together. It's so convincingly absorbing and "real" you'll completely forget you're watching a film. It's got tremendous heart and soul, and the characters will stay with you. Heart-wrenching, but not at all in a manipulative or predictable way. Uplifting, too, for all that, without being preachy or self-righteous. Some of the best character development of any movie I've ever seen. Actually, one of the best films I've ever seen.

I saw it half of an hour ago: home, checking internet to see if the DVD is available. Immediately. This is how good it was - for me. I loved the movie because it was an utterly boy-movie, and in the same time about everything related to being alive. A movie about boys, about a boy. What I noticed was that nothing was left to hang on the thin air, every detail played its part, absolutely everything, beginning with the color of the wall ending with a tattoo - in the way that I felt it only later, when the movie had finished. Everything was so much in the place that there was not even a gap or a too slow motion - as I read from some comments. If possible, please, see this movie before your heart gets too bitter or heavy to respond to what you are seeing.

I had the wonderful privilege of seeing "C. R. A. Z. Y." last night and found it to be funny, charming, tragic, gentle and oh-so-real. Being raised French Canadian Catholic myself, I identified quite strongly with the emptiness of ritual in religion, which does not truly provide a basis for the answers to life's myriad problems. It's the kind of film you will want to see several times, as there are so many layers upon layers of how various characters interact with one another, with themselves and within their world. It will leave you with a surprising variety and depth of emotion, which will unknowingly sneak up on you and I'm quite sure, will stay with you, for years to come. My only issues with the film is that there were storylines which began, but seemed to have been left dangling... on the cutting room floor! Except for these editing/ directorial errors, or, omissions, "C. R. A. Z. Y." will be a film you will long remember. It's definitely a film all "good Christians" should see!!

It was ok at best. Nothing great. A somewhat predictable story. Entertaining but boring at times, therefore it's worth waiting for the DVD in my opinion. I can't believe it's been getting so many 10's from previous reviews on here. The acting was quite good but I still didn't care much for any of the characters.
