A watchable movie with a ridiculous ending. No need of that at all. It could of been so much better. Some good effects though...

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I enjoyed watching this movie and I would recommend it. The acting is good, I liked Cage. The story moves along fast, never boring. The message is grim; many people die. Just remember it's a Sci-Fi movie, not a politically correct documentary.

Interesting movie. The trailers did a good job of appearing enticing yet not even giving a hint as to the real story. Where this movie went was definitely a surprise to me - I appreciated the bold ending, even if it was a bit overly dramatic. Thought this movie has its flaws, it's still worth a rent.

Pretty much what I have come to expect from Nicholas Cage. A movie that feels like it takes from a few movies that came before it... taking away from any real original flare or thrill of anticipation. If you are unable to find something better to do, this is a rental to pick up.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Okay, I had waited to see that movie for a while and I never got the chance to see it in theatres... and I am glad about that! The movie looked so good at the beginning and the crash scenes looked amazing but, as soon as I saw those random people walking around I got a bad feeling. There was ABSOLUTELY NO NEED WHAT SO EVER TO HAVE ALIENS!!! Like if they would have ended it with them all sitting there as a family and dieing together it would have been even better. Hell, even if they found some dumb way to stop it, even THAT would have been better. The acting at the end was so terrible and music score sounded dumb. If you are a fan of The Outer Limits you will enjoy this. NOT worth seeing at all. I feel sorry for the people that spent money on the damn thing.

While I found most of the movie interesting, the ending completely ruined a higher grade. I also was deeply disturbed by the extreme religious metaphors being thrown in my face. One would think it was a Mel Gibson movie.

This is a heavily complex and philosophical masterpiece but the great Alex Proyas. This is not as big a classic as "Dark City" but it's just as original and striking.

This movie is very exciting, and I hope you will find time to check out, the disasters in the movie were off the chain!!! Nicholas Cage did a fine job, as did Alex Proyas!!

I like the story line and I really didn't expect the ending some parts were really good and others weren't but the way some scenes played out were so fake. There was really good special effects but I felt the story line jumped around a bit overall alright movie worth seeing and paying money I wouldn't want to see it anywere else but the theatre.

This movie was supposed to me suspensful and it was for the first 1 1/2 hours but the ending wasnt good. I laughed so much at the end because the acting was very bad. It was fun to go and laugh with my friends but we were laughing at the movie and it wasnt that good. It makes no sense and I wont see it again.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] What a horrendous film. A good start might have been for the screenwriter to know which genre was being written - an apocolyptic Bible film, an action film, science fiction,... and then for all the pieces to be better put together. Badly written - plot jumps all over, completely unreal events - poorly acted - horrific misic score - and what was that ph double D comment at the beginning with the gratuitous gay comment? Was it an 18 year old fart humour film too? They set it up with the girl at the beginning looking like an outcast in such a melodramatic way it didn't even seem real. None of it seemed real. But it wasn't unreal enough to work either. On a whole other note, films like this perpetuate the fear in the world - we have enough of that. Let's work on the good stuff.

Really good movie! Very interesting! Kept me on the edge of my seat! The explosions were amazing and the ending kept you hanging on the way home. Lots of mysteries and creative ideas to make scenes flow. Kinda a depressing movie. Don't watch this movie if you don't like sad endings. I almost shed a tear. I had been waiting to see that movie for about 2 months and I wasn't disappointed. One of the best movies I had ever seen! It didnt make that much sents but it was still good. :D

I am surprised at the discrepancy of thoughts on this movie... it seems that people pretty much give it the "thumbs up" or absolutely hate it! I thought it was a provocative film and is well worth seeing. It kept me guessing until the end which I thought worked well with the story line. Enjoy!

It was just okay. It felt like a padded episode of the Outer Limits. Nicolas Cage was horrible. You will probably guess the ending. The special effects were quite nice and the highlight of the film for me.

Enjoyable, and kept one's interest. Interesting concept, especially these days when humanity seems to be destroying the only place where it can exist. Visually interesting also.

One of the best things about this movie is that is is interesting and intricate while also being incredibly linear. There is lots of action and drama keeping you entertained and on the edge of your seat, but the story is generally focussed around one person and therefore doesn't get very confusing. I highly enjoyed the plot and concept behind the movie, as well as the special effects cinematography etc. and absolutely LOVED the religious themes tied to the movie. The only problem I had with this film is that some of the screenwriting and acting was a little cheesy and unconvincing. Overall, a well-made film that keeps you entertained but leaves you thinking.

I enjoyed the film, though I would agree with a lot of the reviews in that the ending wasn't quite as exhilarating as I would have hoped. For most of the movie I was a captive audience, wondering where the story would take us. Overall I enjoyed it - nothing extraordinary though.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Really good movie, would have loved it if it weren't for the frickin ALIENS at the end! Hollywood took the cheap way out with putting aliens in the movie. Such a disappointing ending. The rest was really good.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The first hour and a half was pretty good. I was thinking it was a movie that I would like to buy on DVD... but then, the ending happened. That changed my mind about the movie completely. I don't really understand why they would bring a plot based on religion into a science fiction story. And the ending was as bad as Indy 4.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I really enjoy movies that have some basis in reality. Although I really don't know how probable such an event that happens in the movies last 20 mins is likely,. Still fact is often stranger then truth. The last time the supreme being ended the world was by flood... I have heard the next time is suppose to be by fire... In that light it is an excellent bit of story telling.

This movie was pretty good but it was long and on going it didn't cut to the chase. I usually like Cage's movies but this on wasn't the best. The ending could be different, I liked the idea but I didn't like it. You know what I'm saying?

This is a really great movie. It isn't a 15yr old scary movie. It is much smarter, it is for older mature persons. I thought the entire movie was very thought provoking. It made me think. The action, CGI, and plot certainly were top notch. The acting is great and it was a true cinema work, not just another dumb bang em up movie. I really was hard pressed to fault.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Entertaining movie, but the religious message bugged me, I prefer my science fiction to be just that, not Christian creationist (or Scientology? ) propaganda. And no, I didn't like the silly ending, either. Sheesh.

A lot of people complain about the ending of this movie, and I agree, it's not a good one. But the rest of the movie is very good. You're kept on the edge of your seat throughout. There's a lot of suspense, and the acting is quite surprising. I realy think that these types of movies are the most difficult to have a solid ending to. You need an ending that won't leave any open plot holes. Remember "The number 23", that ending stunk too. I can't think of a movie about conspiracy, that had a good ending. At least this movie wrapped things up so there weren't many questions afterwards, it just just a bit too much. Still an enjoyable movie.

Bad acting, a predictable plot, and an odd cross between sci-fi and the bible made what could have potentially been a great movie into a dismal letdown.

The scene development of Nicolas Cage is always the same in all the movies, he is the intelligent one who discover everything, he does not change from a movie to another... then END for u has came BUDDY! Everytime u look more stupid with that MORON face... the effects were ok, the plane and subway scenes COOL... the end It was really out of the context I think...

Alex Proyas made the very good Dark City, a truly weird hybrid movie. Rent it. This one is... okay. Nicolas Cage is all right. It has a pretty good conceptual framework but the ending is marred by American love of good ole religion and, frankly, by CGI. CGI sux. It just does. Nothing looks, or more to the point feels real. The last 30 minutes are tiresome. But the audience was quiet and attentive which reminds us all that we love a good science fiction movie and they are sadly all too rare... :(

Oh. My. God. 2 hours of my life that I will never get back, wasted on horrible acting, stupid plot and banal dialogue. Save your money and don't go see this!!! Hollywood and Nicholas Cage should be embarrassed by this movie.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This movie had me going EH? Cage what are you thinking? Will he next be making only movies made for rental? Really it starts out interesting enough then turns to a bunch of sillyness. The ending is ridiculous... 2 per ship? No adults? Are they alien pedophiles? Lol.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Got out of this movie with a sense of emptiness and that I've lost a segment of my life for not much. Bad acting, poor script although the concept seemed somewhat interesting at the beginning. I don't usually watch movie and rate them upon visual effects. It's supposed to be there to support the story. The CGI effects looked very... computer generated! Not credible. Looks like this movie is a hidden promotion for the church of Scientology...

This was a poorly made movie. The concept could have been pretty good although it's been done before. There were times when my husband and I laughed out loud because of the bad script and acting. But at other parts I was scared. Overall the movie was a bit scary visually and I will probably end up with bad dreams for a week from it. I will admit that we were engaged the whole time... just not always in a good way.
