Enh. It was scary at times, but the ending was idiotic and the plot was predictable.

Weak, especially the ending--boring and predictable. To keep it simple, it sucked and so does Josh Hartnett.

The Absolute best vampire film ever made! Sam Rami brings terror back to a dying genre. Although The last like 30 seconds of the film I didn't like.

Their are a lot of dumb horror movies but this one stands out, great story and acting was good too, makeup and effects excellent, a must see, nothing scares me, but this one, was good.

This wasn't bad at all, but I was expecting something that made me cover my eyes in horror. It didnt. Nothing that scary, but there was a sufficient amount of blood I suppose.

Really boring story, neither a horror or action movie. The only thing it has is gore and loud noises that don't scare you, but really makes you want to skip this movie to the ending... Ending is plain and predictable also. So I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.

Most "horror" movies cater to base emotions of startlement, anticipation, childhood fears, strangeness, and the inexplicable. This movie stands out for me among the myriads of horror movies out there due to the approach that it takes on "scarying" the audience. It does not rely on cheap theatrics or overproduced Computer generated animations, but instead... subtly weaves these techniques to revolve around the aspect of anticipation. This movie plays on the audience sense of dread. That element we are all familiar with in everyday lives. That condition of knowing what waits for us, but inevitably,... something that we must face inavoidably so. The "vampires" are not trully scary but are more like,... disgusting in appearance. The fear factor comes from the story's developement. That inescapable situation and the incoming threat that not only is unbelieved, but intelligent and powerful. The horror lies in the sense, not of impotency, but of incredulity and unpreparedness. Ulimately, the climax of horror lies in the ultimat solution to an inescapable problem. That solution that we prefer not to elect, but presents itself as the only avenue left to embrace. This is a cultist horror film. I sincerely anticipate this to become one of the greatest Vampire films of existence. Symbolisms abide throughout the file. One must watch this in a "thinking" fashion. It is more a psychological film in it's deepest core, while on it's surface seemingly a mere perfunctory Vampire film. The most impressive quality of this film is the intelligent way that it presents its impact. It does not assume that the audience is comprised of fools, unable to comprehend the subtleties. Each time you watch this film, it will present a viewpoint previously unnoticed by a viewer. I agree that there are simplistic scenes, however, these scenes do not dominate most of the movie,... and is more a passing flaw of negligible impact to the overall quality of the film. Some character developement are incomplete, and some are left "dangling" throughout the story. This failure of the film is apparent, as the story appears to be fragmented in that aspect. However, this is a movie to own, but be warned: This IS a VERY, VERY Frightening movie.

Decent enough, but the ending could've been better. If you're thinking of moving to Alaska, don't see this movie.

A fresh new vampire film that has a good original feel to it, lots of blood and a very cool decapitation scene.
