Definitely very moving... the characters have played well, however you would enjoy it more after reading the book. As always there are details left out of the movie, but little Hassan is so adorable! One needs to be open minded to watch this moving, as there is a fraction of the population who would jump to conclusions or generalise about certain things after watching the movie. Watch out for Khalid Hosseini who appears in the movie briefly!! Soundtrack is amazing and so is the scenery.

It was a fascinating movie especially for those who have read the book (Khalid Hosseini the author) they can better understand the subtleties of the plot and the emotion burried under all that is somewhat hurriedly potrayed in the movie. But that is always the case in novels turned into movies, and this movie has done a great job, keeping itself sincere to the original feel and emotional range that the characters in the book undergo. Acting has been very good, while they could have played with the screenplay a little, but not necessarily.

I loved the movie, but I think it's partly because I loved the book. Without having read the book, the movie is not as powerful... I thought the characters were well chosen, except for the father, who in the book is described as this big, strong man, which big hands etc... and in the movie, he's skinny and small.

Excellent... I read the novel by Khaled Hosseini some time ago... this movie was able to elicit the same kinds of feelings (especially melancholy) as the book did... go see it!

Look For the Next Flick I entered this movie with high expectations. Several friends said that they had read the book and gave the novel raving reviews. So I entered the film expecting a good evening. Instead, viewers are exposed to a film that tries to mimic a good book but fails by leaving the movie goer disturbed. An unnecessarily graphic rape scene is inserted into the movie, as if seeking to prove that Afghanistan is in a sad state, but succeeds only to alienate the viewer from the movie's message. My suggestion is read the book, because if you're looking for a good movie, it's probably better to look for the next flick.

Very emotional movie, with lots of accurate historical accounts. Probably the only movie I've seen that has done a book justice. Excellent acting all around, very well put together. A classic!!!

An amazing and touchy movie. I really liked the story line. I am Iranian and proud and hope ppl don't get negative points by seeing such movies. These days we watch so many fake movies that tries to look middle eastern ppl so bad but some are and some not. This was a true movie which I really liked. Must see!!!

Simply superb. It sticks to the novel. Just beautiful with an remarkably realistic cast. An amasing portrayal of how one man is offered redemption for his unspeakable childhood actions. And how to live with such love and goodness that you can for fogive what others may find unforgivable.
