Kind of predictable, but decent for a night in's rental.

I wasn't impressed at all by this movie. I wanted it to be so much better than it was but it didn't stir up any feelings in me at all. The cast was not well suited for this film. Diane Lane seemed disconnected from her role and the rest of the cast looked as if they were simply going through the motions. Not a bad rental but hardly worthy of the Big Screen.

A movie is supposed to keep you entertained and into the plot... this movie accomplishes that and more... it's a thriller worth watching.

In all honesty I thought this movie was a great suspense thriller, that kept my stomach in knots throughout the entire picture, but I enjoyed every minute of it. It is similar in style to "Silence of The Lambs" and "Seven" and there is even a hint of the "Saw movies" that's blended into the recipe too. I found this film's concept a curious and frightening one, that a cyber predator could gain so much power from just using a personal home computer to carry out a plan so heinous, thus using it as a death trap to lure innocent victims, and in turn, benefiting from this for his own sick purposes. I thought the actor who played the evil genius did a believable and amazing job. Also, what I liked about this movie was that it didn't drag, it was fast paced, had good direction, and a well, thought out plot. The dark, and gritty scenes seemed to fit the mood, and there was a sense of dread and foreboding at every turn. Be forewarned, there are some very intense moments that may be disturbing to some, with imagery that is so extremely graphic, that it may turn some stomachs. I must also commend Diane Lane for her superb acting role. Overall," Untraceable" delivers a shocking punch that is both entertaining and thought-provoking to the viewer's eye. Lots of exciting action to be had in this one. Worth a look to be sure.

Worst movie I have ever seen. Do not even think about watching this movie. It just goes on and on, the producers try 2 make it suspenseful but they will never make it anymore crappier than it already is. I do not suggest this movie 2 anyone.

I would have rated the movie higher, maybe even upwards of an 8 or 9; good story, good suspense and all that... BUT, they had to go and kill a kitty as the opening torture scene. A KITTY. Not a cat, a cute little kitten. Then the killer tries to seem "human" by refusing to harm a little girl ("You guys didn't think I would Hurt the girl, did you? ") Perhaps the director/writer already forgot that the killer tortured a KITTEN!!!

Decent flick a little boring at times. I would wait until it was on dvd, but not a waste of money if you see it in theatres. Could have done alot more with this concept.

I think this movie should be rated much higher. It's a really good, contemporary suspense. It kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. I thought the idea was really original. Great movie!!!

Overall a good movie because of the concept and storyline- it's original. Unfortunately, it falls flat at the end which is a shame. As for the gore... it's nothing too revolting especially if you've watched Saw and Hostel. However, I had a laugh at how bad the OnStar product placement was... it obviously wasn't there when she really needed it!

I had no expectation on that movie, I didn't read the synopsis before either. It is a disturbing movie, well acted by Diane Lane, I really liked her. I would recommend it to you but it is very disgusting, but the idea of the movie is good, original, disgusting and disturbing though.

Very similar to Saw in terms of content, with better acting and less suspense. I find it a little ironic that a movie about how society has become so desensitized to violence that they would log onto a website to watch someone die (which is very likely true about society in general) would then seem to go out of it's way to further desensitize society from violence. The torture scenes are as violent and gruesome as anything seen in the Saw movies, and I wouldn't recommend this movie for anyone upset by gruesome scenes. I realize the difference between a gruesome murder and the fictional portrayel of a gruesome murder, but it seems to me that the style of the movie directly contradicted the message of the movie. That being said, the acting is quite good, with a decent, and semi-original plotline, although there are more cliches than surprises. Also, do not go in expecting to be kept guessing, as the identity of the killer is revealed fairly quickly.

Very good movie. Well written, well acted, and engaging. Diane Lane is great to watch. But! You can't be bothered by gore, because this movie is full of it. Gets close to what they show in the saw movies. I saw it for free after seeing another movie (jumper) first and was glad I did, because it was much better, and I left feeling I didn't waste my money.

I wasn't sure what to expect withe this move, hearing everything from it was disappointing to it was great. Well, I can say it was good movie, two of us saw it and neither of us felt it was disappointing. Diane Lane is great as always and there is enough suspense to keep the movie going to the end. Definitely recommend watching this one, but maybe wait for DVD.

I'm overwhelmed with joy that I went on cheap night to see this movie. It was terrible. There was some serious potential in the plot, but it was quickly shot down with a terrible script and terrible acting. Lane is an amazing actress, but even she couldn't save this movie. The entire movie was predictable, including the ending.

O. K. So I chose to go see this movie, so I shouldn't complain about the gory parts... I should've expected it, considering it's a movie about murdering people "en direct" on internet. However, I wasn't expecting the murders to be so graphic! I love suspense and thriller type movies, but I have a lot of trouble with TORTURE and CRUELTY. I find it pretty scary to realize how this form of violence on the screen is "banalisé" by people who witness the scenes (i.e. us, the movie viewers) I even worry that these movies will give some good ideas to some nut case out there that wants to get revenge on someone. I hardly ever close my eyes at the movies. This time I did a few times. Seeing people suffer... I just can't comprehend how people can watch. It's only a movie... but it could be REAL!!! This being said, I guess I'm kind of a hypocrit, because I saw the first two "SAW" movies. And I admit to have felt a mix of curiosity and repulsion throughout the viewing of those movies. I'm not ready to see anymore SAW movies. But I have to say, at least they were much more original than "untraceable". And I also preferred the morale behind the plot : Learn to appreciate your life and live it to the fullest instead of wasting it away. In untraceable, not much of a morale. Just revenge. And a bit "tiré par les cheveux".

This had the potential to be a great movie. I found it to be way too gory - I think hollywood really needs to focus on captivating the audience mind through means other than violence and gore. There are scenes I really didn't feel I needed to see, but all in all the movie had a great story line.

I went to see this movie for Diane Lane. I didn't go in with high expectations and was still deceived in the end. Even an actress as talented as Diane Lane can't save this movie. She can only do so much with a bad script! It seemed as if the gory scenes were meant to cover up the boring plot. The end was very predictable. It's not completely bad (Ms. Lane is total eye candy) but you won't miss anything if you wait for it to be aired on TV.

This movie is FORMULA to the nines which is why it gets an upside down rating of a six. Diane Lane was wasted in this flick and when she was going to be taken off the case (gee that's original) I thought that Hollywood writers should stay on strike longer.

First of all, this movie reminded me of such movies as Saw and a little bit of Hostel. Torture-like movies are popular these past years, but most are not worth seeing. I can say that this one has quite different scenario. Good to see with a bunch of friends...

We've seen all of this before, many times over. Predictable, unexciting, not very intelligent, and quite boring at times. The idea had potential but the end product falls so flat. As others have said, it's Saw meets Law & Order, without the good parts.

Stupid FBI can only catch a "super intelligent" series killer by watching their colleagues dying in front of them. What a funny movie. The killer, moreover, is killed by his own careless. It turns back to prove that FBI in this movie is stupid.

The trailers led me to believe this would be much more of a psychological thriller and less of a "how can we gross the audience out by showing people being tortured to death" type of film. I think the studio missed out on an opportunity to hold a mirror up to us as a society that has become desensitized to violence to the point that we actually crave it when it is presented to us in a form that doesn't personally touch us or those we know. Ironically, it becomes exactly what it should have been condemning. As such, it becomes part of the problem instead of, as art forms should have the power to do, force us to look at life around us differently than we are sometimes used to. Entertainments have the power to enrich us through laughter, pathos, or just plan making us think about things differently. I don't feel that my life was in any way enriched by seeing this movie, in fact I feel the opposite. It's like a toxin in our environment, I'd rather avoid it if I can.

Kind of a mix between Saw and a regular cop movie. It is clearly not a mystery because the killer is quickly revealed, but it is entertaining. I went last Tuesday (the 1st week) and the theater was 25% empty.
