It's the kind of movie you would have to see in theaters to like it.

The opening scenes were very graffic and reminded me as to why I stay away from 18A ratings. The main plot was very good though.

I just can't help but give this one 9/10. It is an excellent movie, and a must see, especially for heist movie fans. I had heard a lot of great buzz on this one, so I had pretty high expectations before seeing it. And it lived up to those expectations, and then some. I must admit that I am a fan of Jason Statham. I think he plays such a great hero on the big screen. And he does so yet again in this slick crime movie. There are twists, there are turns, there are deceptions, and there are complications... this movie has all the necessary ingredients for a very entertaining and satisfying heist movie. An excellent movie, very well paced, a must see in my book. But be warned that it is not for children as it does feature some adult content!!!

Smart flick. Don't miss it. Excellent casting, breakneck pace, nail-biting suspense. Finally, a film where they "blow stuff up" and it's not gratuitous.

I really didn't think the storyline was good at all. There were some parts where you think what's gonna happen, and those are good parts. But it wasn't that good. It's not bad, but it could be much better.

Good heist movie. Doesn't reach the level of "Snatch" or the camaraderie in "Ocean's Eleven", but then again it's not meant to. This is adapted from a real life story, and all the actors do a fine job in portraying. The fact that none of them are hollywood "superstars" helps, with the notable exception of Jason Statham who gets to show off his kung fu skills (but he blends in with the rest -the spotlight isn't on him- which benefits the movie)

This is a sleeper, the Brits have come up with another pretty good film. The acting and action is good and the storyline keeps you involved throughout. Based on a true story (with a little hollywood added) it reconstructs a bank job from british history.

It would be nice to see a good movie stand on its own without so much swearing and sexual content. Haven't we come far enough to do without that? Brad.

What a great plot! Some scenes were a little out there, especially the card game was unrealistic. I didnt like how they showed the bathroom scenes either, kinda gross... but all in all a good movie.

This is an action/thriller movie with a great story line! It comes at you from several different angles. It is hard to turn away as you just don't want to miss anything. Jason Statham gives an outstanding performance. It was well worth the ticket price!!

With the exception of "Snatch" I'm not a big Jason Statham fan, but "The Bank Job" proved to be a solid heist flick with lots of tension and a half decent plot. Well shot, well paced and with plenty more integrity than any of the Transporter films. That said, for all the luck and strategy at play in this film it's hard to believe that it's based on a true story.

I enjoyed it immensely. Great story. Although it is a plot that we've seen before from Hollywood, it had enough twists to make it fresh.

Very plausible and yet we must realize that truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. How these amateurs pulled this off definitely involved a great deal of luck and bravado.

The Brisish filmmakers have their own storytelling ways, which some obviously do not appreciate. For one, I do and this excellent movie is a perfect example of good storytelling, precise filmography and superb acting. No car chases, no explosions, no gun rampages, but the action neveretheless never stops and relates accurately an intricate plot with several corollaries. Hail to the British for yet another great movie.

Hold onto your popcorn! Spoilers Ahead! The Bank Job came as billed … a bang-on bank heist … based on a true story no less. Which brings us to the tires that seldom get kicked in the movie industry. Er … uh … exactly what is embellished under this “based on a true story” byline? I’ll toss out two embellishment tweaks and a potential bombshell that may blow a wall into yet another British bank vault. The tweaks first … In a spastic moment better left to Jerry Lewis, the lookout just happens to accidentally drop his walkie-talkie off the roof at the precise moment the police are expecting the bandits to communicate with the lookout. Innocent bystander note: there’s no audio of this brick-sized piece of 1971 technology smacking onto the sidewalk below. (It didn’t break!) With no criminal activity on the airwaves, the coppers are unable to pinpoint the robber’s location. Next, Terry, the kingpin of these keystone crooks, has a stunning blonde for a wife. Why would he throw that away for a roll in the dough with Martine? So the screenwriter could create a rare flaw in Terry’s personality and up the ante with some angst to play off against Martine and Terry’s wife at the end of the movie when the robbers celebrate their winnings -- and more appreciated freedom. This dovetails into the third – and by my Embellishment Eggtimer – the biggest revisionist history of them all. What about our favorite drug smuggler, Martine? She’s portrayed as a savvy international traveler whose trading witty repartee with the Parliamentary elite. Except she’s of course trying to keep her make-up on the right side of the jailhouse two-way mirror. Exactly how long would she -- a criminal -- wait to spill ALL the beans about the biggest bank heist ever to her cronies when all she has to worry about is turning over a few photographs in return for 3 million pounds? My money says she told her friendly villains the whole story from square one and they planned the switching of the getaway van during the third round of beers. Finally, not that finding movie embellishments is a family pastime, but my 13-year-old daughter suggested that the burning down of Michael X’s home in the tropics was pushing the envelope. Perhaps … when one considers the motto for that warmest of climes: “Don’t worry, be happy. ” Non-fiction can be gut-wrenching and stranger than fiction. And sometimes I guess you just had to be there.

For a 13+ rating the movie had way too much T&A. This movie should have been rated at least 16+ if not R. I'm guessing the only thing that kept the rating so low was that there was cursing, and not much violent action. The little action there is, and other events in the movie are realistic which is always nice. I get no thrills out of 'ya sure' over the top scenes. The movie itself is your basic action/suspense film. The acting was good, the story was good too but nothing really great. The best part of this movie was Jason Statham who plays the main character. He was at his best in this one, unlike Transporter 2, he has much more dialog which was nice because he is much more than a simple action star that runs around blowing things us.

Great movie. The rating should have been "R" since there are scenes in the movie that are not appropriate to young teenagers - 16 and under (nude scenes, brothel scenes and dominatrix scenes) That being said, the plot was good, nothing spectacular but good. Jason Statham did not disappoint.

The film doesn’t exactly have the deepest plot in the world. It’s a pretty simple and straight forward story that has you almost wishing it would throw in some sort of twist that could take it to another level, but that twist (not the M Night Shamhammer kind) never comes. The movie is a sort of WYSIWYG movie. It’s all laid out for you right there on the surface, and from the first 15 minutes of the flick you know exactly where the movie is going to go. No real surprises, no real depth.

Not a bad idea, has lots of crossings and double-crossings, loads of corruption, and some excitement. It's fun sometimes but annoying other times. The gratuitous nudity was expected but there was a much larger quantity of it than my patience could stand. All in all, very mediocre.

If Hollywood had done this movie, it would have been slicker and grittier and you would have been able to understand more of what the characters were saying. That being said, it was an interesting story adequately told and acted out.

A refreshing piece of work. Not the usual brainless smash 'em up garbage but something with a little substance for a change. Good pace, well written, directed and acted. If only there were more films that told stories instead of showing you scenes. Comes well Recommended.
