This movie was nothing short of fantastic an instant classic and the next great installment in the Alien/Predator franchises this show is great the action, comedy, and suspense is superb. Wow the movie is great can't say much more but also aside from the world famous trademarked Alien and Predator characters but also is the sexy Sanaa Lathan as Alexa Woods, Raoul Bova as the brave and intelligent Sebastian De Rosa, and Ewen Bremner as the plucky and funny Dr. Graeme Miller. Great movie check it out.

I love how they included both great franchises and made them face off in a head to head death match! I love predator and alien and they kicked each others butts! This movie can be corny and fake sometimes but it can also be disturbing, this is a good movie.

The movie itself is nothing more then a fun action ride it occasionally ads a sense of joy and entertainment but the main problem is the focus on the dull human characters who nobody gives a damn about. I really didn't care for any of the Human actors except for Wayland but I can say It could be a little more like the comics it was based on.

There are people giving this movie high ratings and it bewilders me no measure in understanding WHY! Aliens and Predator are two of my favourite movies and both the directors (Cameron and McTierlan) should have been at least approached to write/direct this movie because the guy they gave it to is a liar (he said he was a fan of the comics, yet his movie is full of mistakes and does not resemble anything in the comics) and has no-skill-what-so-ever! In the classic comic collection, the hunt begins on a desert, roasting hot planet called Ryushi; humans had not settled there years before and the Predators had been using it as a hunting ground for the alien warriors. Humans have now settled there and get caught up in the carnage. Why was this movie set in a freezing area of Earth? How come the alien's blood can melt this armour and wrist blade of the predators when in the comics, it doesn't. It makes no sense to hunt something with weapons that will be destroyed. The music score is atrocious, the fight between the predator and the warrior is like something from WWE, Lance Henrikson's character appears in Alien 3 as the human designer of the Bishop androids so how can he be killed in this movie? , how fast does the director think the alien lifecycle takes? He has the facehuggers on the explorers one minute and after, like 10 minutes, the chestbuster coming out! So retarded and lazy and the guy has a wealth of narrative and film to base his crap movie on so he has no excuse for his inability to make a straightforward movie. I could go on but I won't! Thankfully the sequel looks much truer to the comics, particulary Aliens VS Predator: War (definitely buy this graphic novel) I bought this DVD to hear the commentary on it; I laughed very much at the reasoning behind a lot of scenes. My 15 year old niece could make a better movie!

If you liked Alien and you liked Predator, this movie is a must see! It did have a different story plot than the originals, but I liked how they tied it in at the end. It looked like they put a lot of time and effort into making the storyline work, and there were some nice twists along the way.

Please I beg of you the creators of the predator and the alien movies please let the predator win in the upcoming alien VS. Predator 2 sequel. Because there are way more predetor fans and predetor is the best and thats a fact. Predetor has the weaponry and the martial arts fighting skills and is deadly in his own right witch is the best right of course, and he is extaordinarily the most stong in the universe. And he also has the awesome technology witch is way cool, so please let the predetor win because he truly is the mightyest warrier. Because the aliens are just little ants for practice if you know what I mean, I mean thats the whole story line behind the predetor, they are simply the mightyest hunters I mean come on!, they are aliens too and they also have the correct name, PREDETOR!!! So come on Fox the creators of the predetors and the aliens, please let the predetor(s) win, because thats what we as the smart predetor fans want. So fox may the mightiest warrior and I quote the only warrier, predetor prevail. PS. Please do not reject my comment, please reply soon [...]

This movie could have been a lot better in the sence of researching the previous Alien movies as well as the Predator movies. The biggest "flaw" is the fact that the Predators are "attracted to HEAT and CONFLICT" now unless I missed something, the area they went to was, and had been, deserted for the past 100 years, and was located about 10 miles past the middle of "no-where" - the fact that the Pymarid was located 2, 000 feet into a Ice Tundra also blew that away. As well the Aliens ALWAYS bulit their nests in heated areas, (around the boiler-rooms (Alien), or in the power plant of the atmosphere processors (Aliens)or surrounding the vats of Molten Lead (Alien 3) Now if the movie had been researched PROPERLY, it would have been a near 10 in my book. Although it did tie into actual Human history with regards to ancient Pymarids and such (nice touch) a location like in the middle of the Sarah Desert would have made it more to the "rules" of the story. Lance Hendricksons' part was very cool, however a little research would have told the writers that his original role was that of an engineer, expertiese in robotics. (He was the devloper of the "Synthetic Person" droid in Aliens. Now I could go on and on... but what is the point, yes it could have been written better, and MAYBE, if a sequal is made, these points would be concidered, however the AvP was a GREAT movie, not as badly acted as some would have you believe, not the greatest acting performances either, fair to middelin I'd say. The special effects and the tie in to the very old saying..."The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is a good one. (Although I would have had the Predator take the chick as a trophy at the end, (prooving their lack of respect for an obviously lesser life-form that "us" humans are.

In the world of monster vs monster movies this one has been long awaiated. Alien and Predator are 2 of the best monster/sci-fi movies out there and it's about time they were fused together to form an even better monster movie!

A good summer movie but... bishop was good to tie the store line. Effect where good the movie did not seem to have any direction as the alien and preditor movie let you discover the story and it looked like everyone seen the alien and preditor movies before they went to the shout, every morning. No one seemed really scare all they seemed to be sceared of was the peguens. I felt let down effect plus & plus.

Not as good as any of the Alien movies, nor as good as any of the Predator movies (including Predator 2) It takes too long to get going, the action is a bit hard to follow sometimes, the humans are dull people to watch, and the final conflict is uninteresting. Still, there's a good 30 minutes of solid, tense action here that saves this from being really bad. It wasn't bad for a buck.

The dialogue sucks very badly. The acting is horrible, lacking charm. But somehow I found myself liking AvP. The story, the setup and the intrigue is what saved this one. Kudos to the FX and the action too. With a good script and far more flashback sequences (which were cool), this would have been far better.

This movie was a huge waste of time. Not only a waste of my time... a waste of the people's time and the actor's time. I wasted 11.50 on this movie and essentially had to sneak in(15 with no picture ID) I was hoping to have a heart attack in the middle of the show, so that I wouldn't have to sit through the entire thing. The fact that you couldn't distinguish the Alien and the Predator while they were fighting was quite a let down. When you spend so much money on a film. [...] Please do not further this terrible movie's "success" by wasting your money on this. Go waste your money on food, or something else that is unnecessary.

This film is primarily for people who enjoy action/adventure with great special effects. The two main creatures are both fascinating and to see them together in combat makes it very worthwile to watch. If your looking for depth and good storyline, try something else, this is just pure combatant entertainment!

I thought this movie was a great idea! It looked like it could be awesome! It was awesome... right up until the Predater and the main character chick become Batman and Robin. What were they thinking!!! This was supposed to be a horror flick. Their supposed to kill anything in their path. But no, they team up and fight the Alien together. My jaw almost hit the floor. That was the most pathetic writing I've ever seen. Thay really screwed up a potentially excilent movie. Really bad. Some of the fighting scenes at the start were friggin, amazing! I was thinking to myself "alright this is going to be a killer movie", but when the Predater amde her a sheild and a weapon out of a dead Alien baby I just wanted to get up and leave right there. They totally blew that movie right there. [...] Don't waste 6 cents on this movie people, I wasted $5.50, and I wish I had it back!!! BRUTAL!!!

This is undoubtedly one of the biggest hyped movies of all time. Worst of all, it did grave in-justice to the one of the fascinating villains of all time - the predator. They looked like ordinary humans in this movie. Except their height and their getup, I dont see any reason why a normal hero would not fit in their role. No substance in the plot and things are very very predictable. Dont expect too much from graphics also as they are so so and you could not even fault designers as the plot didnt give any scope for them to display their skills. If you have nothing else to do, and you really want to waste 5$, see it with 0 expectations. Even if you will be disappointed in the end, your 1.5 hour will past by.

It is very hard to take a very successful comic strip and trun it into a movie without it being stupid, look what happend with "Hulk". But this movie works. You have to watch the movie for what it is, a sci-fi action movie, thats it. The effects are amazing and we have never seen the aliens or predators so real and well done ever as we do in this movie. The pyramid thing was a bit lame, and so was the ending with the alien coming out of the predator. If it takes no time at all for the alien to be born of a human, why so long in the predator? Lol... just enjoy the movie and don't think about stuff like that, it will go smoothly.

This movie ranks very high when rated against most sequels. I thought some of the action scenes were a bit too jumpy and blurred. And some idiot's theory is the pyramid changes every 10 minutes as some ancient society used a base 10 system. Since when is 600 seconds base 10? At best it would be 1, 000 seconds, but I doubt seconds were used. Yes, a minor detail, but an example of some of the shaky writing. So best to watch it with a more open (empty) mind.
