AMAZING MOVIE! A tad bit confusing at the end but really an amazing movie. It felt so real and it was so scary! The special effects were priceless.

Kinda weird movie at first I didnt get t it but like 3 hourz lter I did :)in the begginning it was like HIDE AND SEEK and at the end it was like THE RING 1&2.

This was such a boring movie. The movie was moving so slowly. I didn't find anything scary at all. There was no jumpy parts or anything interesting. Actually I thought the movie was pretty stupid and boring. What a waste of money.

This movie wasnt scary and really didn't seem 2 have much of a point 2 it, I found it really dumb and kind of like... a cheap version of the ring 1& 2.

Same idea as "the ring" - but very good - even excellent. The acting is a 10, photography a 10 too. A very quiet, intelligent, fantastic movie. A deep story without blood and shock effects. I would give a 9, the 8 is just because the author used exactly the same idea as in "the ring".

I don't usually go to horror movies but this one caught my interest when I read about it, I finally was able to go and see it tonight and it probably was what I had expected the movie to be (at least for me anyways) The movie kept my attention all the way through and I even jumped a few times. I quite liked it.

Many people think it sucked, but you cant expect alot of horror if its PG, I mean doesnt PG mean kids can watch it? Well... it was a good movie, for me at least it was the story line is about a young girl named cecy and her mother was abondend my hers so she relates to a little girl who was left behind because her parents left her, and this girl went on a roof of a building and fell in a tank.. when cecy and her mother first moved in to theyre apartment they start noticing odd things such as a leak from the room above.. its complicated to explain, but at the end you see that the little girl who was cecy's friend wanted a mother and killed cecys mom to have a mom.. it's a good movie to go see... but if your looking for a real scare like the grudge or the ring than dont see this because its PG.. and its more of a story line which you have to under stand to go see... radther than a scare... but a good movie over all..

I sat through this movie for 50 minutes with out seeing a ghost. It was Dull, boring and depressing. It seemed to be focused on a custody battle then a haunting. I asked for my money back.

One of the worst horror / thrillers in many years. Nothing really happens during the whole movie, you wait and wait and there is no pay off. No real scares and too many similarities to the Ring (same writer) Even if you like scary movies, this one is not worth seeing.

As it was said up above there... this even beats out the grudge in stupidity... the writer of this needs some new ideas... young girl drowned... her parents didnt love her so she comes back to haunt everyone... it's the exact same story as the ring 1 and 2... just alot worse... it wasnt even scary and the ending was so incredibly dumb. Dont waste your money.

Do not bother to see this movie... the acting is excellent and the atmosphere is there but the editing and predictability leave you looking at your watch... waiting both for a scary moment to arrive (which doesn't) and for the movie to finally end. Unfortunate and my wife thought it was terrible as well (at one point we looked at each other and started to laugh because it was just so bad! )

Great movie! No blood or guts in it either. Why do people always think that there has to be blood and gore in a horror movie? That ruins it cuz it makes people sick! This movie was a pure scary make you jump kind. The type of movie White Noise was except a total different plot and movie. I don't know why so many people didn't like it cuz I loved it! It wasn't as good as White Noise but it was second best! It wasn't slow at all! Within the first 10min of the movie things were already starting to happen! Go see it now, you get the full effect of the scariness on the big screen!

Maybe not a scary movie, but a psychological movie, which really is captivating at the point that you get caught on the story from the beginning to the end. Good cast of good actors who performed perfectly for this movie. But don't wait for ghostly specials effects and a group of people dying like others scary movies... actualy this is a class smart kind of scary movie and not the same boring people get kill and special effects kind of movie.

I wouldn't classify this as a thriller - it's more of a drama. It was atmospheric and moody - which was good. However it lacked the tingly creepiness that original Japanese Dark Water had. The original also had a much better ending which was more sinister than the Hollywood remake. The acting was good in this one, but the ending falls flat - it felt like they ran out of time (or money? ) and couldn't come to any real conclusion. See this one - but also try to see the original - it's well worth it.

So, what can I say... Not exactly original (the story line resembles that of The Ring's) and not even that scary. As someone commented on the way out, water turning brown isn't exactly frightening. I wouldn't suggest renting this one, let alone wasting your money on it at a theatre.

A well acted movie, especially liked Pete Postlethwaite as the sleazy super. This movie was written by the same Japanese that wrote "the Ring" & "the Grudge". It's not as good as the ring, but better than the grudge. There is also much less disturbing imagery in this one than in the previous two. The acting is there, the atmosphere is there, but I was expecting to be scared by something and I wasn't. This movie left me feeling sad more than anything else. Overall feels like a sad drama instead of a scary movie. Worth seeing for the acting & story, but don't expect to be frightened.

Silly, silly, and silly. Dont waste your money. It was sooo dumb, and the ending sucked! The only saving grace of the movie is Jennifer Connely and the little girl. Other than that, the trailers were the best part. Go see Fantastic 4.

*shakes head* Now, where to start? There were a few parts in the movie that actually made me jump. It was very, very suspicious. Kept me pondering and wondering on what would happen next. Although very suspenceful, erm, wasn't very scary. It didn't leave me thinking about the movie all night. Wasn't frightening enough.

Wow, this movie was really written by the same guy who wrote The Ring? I find that incredible, as The Ring was fantastic and this movie was awful! It was slow moving, boring and barely scary or suspenseful at all. What happened here, even The Ring II was better than this! Up until now I thought The Grudge was the worst recent release in this genre, but not anymore, congratulations Dark Water!
