I loved this movie. But the books were like 10x better. I still hope for a sequel to eragon.

Quality-wise, it was like Harry Potter Four in that it deviated quite a bit from the story, but also that it wasn't very good. Actually, Eragon was just not very good at all. Poor show from the director, the writer, but especially the author, for green lighting this. Funnily enough, I actually liked the books until I realized they were Star Wars in Middle-Earth. O well.

Good effects, the dragon looks very good as well, the story is rushed, this film needed to be longer, more indepth to the plot would have helped this film as a whole.

This movie, to me, was just like an unoriginal mediocre version of Harry Potter. There wasn't that much adventure to it, the action parts weren't that exciting, and I kind of didn't really give a rat's ass about it. However, It wasn't too bright in the boredom department.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] THIS SUCKED, the movie is not at all like the book except for the little bit they included about the story. First the egg did not appear in front of him, he found it, second they cut out so much and made the people travel across the land in a matter of days, not weeks, they missed the trip to teirm, the kings castle and the prison aria was in were not in cities they were on, barren rocky mountains, Brom was not killed the way he was supposed to, they did not meet Murtagh the way they were supposed to, they did not go to Dras Leona, there was no desert, just a forest, arias disease did not take place until after she was rescued but she was supposed to be unconscious all throughout, there was no Saphire above the mountain city in fact there was basically no city at all, just a castle, the fight with Durza was played up though it shouldn't have been. He fight one on one not it dragons. Darret was supposed to be deserted and dead, there were still people there, Angela should have been in Teirm, there was no Solenmbum, Brom should have looked older, Eragons cousin left and never came back, though he should have, the flight away from Carvahall should have taken him to the mountains, not back home, there was no battle with the Razac in the book, they didn't go to hells gate, Ajihad didn't die and the fight scene was bogus. This was a major disappointment, the directors and producers butchered, stabbed and shot this book, they should be ashamed. It is an ABOMINATION TO THE BOOK.

The movie was very very very horrible. I hated it. It doesn't do ANY justice whatsoever to the book at all. I can't believe they based the movie on the freaking VIDEO GAME of Eragon. How can you stoop that low? I don't understand. This movie isn't even worth renting, even if you didn't pay for renting it. IT SUCKS! I rest my case.

In my opinion, I though this movie was very boring. The acting and the plot isn't very interesting. I don't recommend this movie to anyone because it isn't worth the money. I got to watch the movie for free, so just some advice for those planning to watch it!

I haven't read the books and don't intend to. The dialogue was childish, the acting itself wasn't bad considering the actors were struggling with the ridiculous lines given to them, and I felt like smacking that boy silly throughout the movie. The scenery was pretty though, and Rachel Weisz is surprisingly pleasant as the dragon's voice. All in all, a movie that shouldn't have been bad and that fell flat.

Horrible compared to the book. I knew they had to change some things but this was going beyond. They were trying to fit to much into it. But see it if you haven't read the book though.

I love this movie it was a masterpiece. Eragon was a hottie plus Edward Speleer did a great job portraying the actor. I have loved dragons for a long time. I loved Sophira she was so believable it's so hard to believe she was animation. I now wish I was a dragon rider. I love this movie so much I can't stop thinking about it. I wish this was real life so then I could be a dragon rider. Bottom line you have to see it. Alot of people are complaining about the book well I'm going to read both of the books and I don't care if it's different I will still love this movie. I am holding my breath waiting for the second movie to come out. I LOVE THIS MOVIE TO DEATH!!!

I feel that Eragon was an overall EXCELLENT Movie and a must see... I loved it and so did my family... Believe it or not my 5 year old little girl wanted the movie so we got it for her and my husband and my self loved it just as much as she did... It makes you feel like you never know what is going to happen to you by tomorrow... I feel like it was like the Lord Of The Rings which were also great movies... You have to be into Movies like this to really like it...

Ok now u want to talk about this movie well I wont for a minute or 2 plz wait a second well I think of something to say... (2 lines of dots later) time to get to bussiness ok I have heard this movie is nothing like the book if this is true I'm going to see the second (if they make a second) ok it is cheesy how they made the dragon thingy baby turn into the big 1 some thing better than flying in the air and turning big. He could of eaten some beans and over time turned bigger. This would of added some more time making but then they could of added 1 dollar or 2 to the price. And if they ate beans what type would they be? Lima beans or kidney beans? Ok no more small talk time to get the point this is a ok movie and I could spend all night writing this. But u probably have some thing better to do. But by the time your done reading this uve waited 2minutes of your precious life. So good movie

They took much of the book out of the movie. It was enjoyable all the same though. If you didn't read the book, then you would probably give this movie a higher rating then the people who did read the book.

A great movie for the younger kids. My daughter is 10 and loved it. As an adult the movie is okay but if your wanting to take kids around that age (or they just love dragons) it's a good one.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The movie was ok. I enjoyed it but it definitely could've been much much better. It leaves room for a second part in the end and although the story ends... it doesn't really... They won a fight... but not won the war. Anyway... worth seeing.

First of all, the special effects and casting was horrible. I love fantasy and adventure movies, but this movie was not very well done. I read the book before I watched the movie and it was excellent, but the movie doesn't follow the book well at all! Eragon does not fall in love with Arya in the book and so many things are missing. Plus it was rushed far too much. Read the book and skip the movie, save your money and time.

A dreadful piece of crap. I read the book (which was probably a mistake before seeing the movie) The movie omitted most of the important details of the book. It was like watching a video on fast forward... a manic rush to reach the end of the film with no thought given to plot, character development or dialog.

The movie was badly done. The special effects were horrible and the actors look nothing like how I imagined the characters from the book. The story line did not follow well with the book and Eragon was not supposed to fall in love with the girl. I don't recommend it, not an enjoyable movie. You get bored in the middle and want to leave. All the action is at the end.

We took our 5 children, aged 6 to 12. Each one of them thought is was fantastic. One thought it was the best movie they ever saw! All the while, we as parents, were completely entertained the entire movie. For parents and children to be equally satisfied during a movie is a rare family find... This was accomplished in this one! Expensive to take our family to the movies, but this one was worth every penny!

This movie was not to bad. What I liked about it was more the scenery when Eragon is riding the dragon. That I found really cool. What person wouldn't want a dragon that you could talk to using Telepathy and fly on to destroy all the enemies.

Not sure why people knocked it so much, it wasnt as bad as everyone said. Yeah, they could have maybe done better but most people watching this are fans of this genre of movie && are more than likely LOTR fans aswell && are comparing it to those movies. Yeh in comparison to them, Eragon looks crappy but other than that I liked it.

I read the book before I saw the movie. The special effects are very lame and the only thing they got right with the characters is their gender. If you've read the book, you'll hate it. They destroy the original plot and even remove some of the characters! I'm horrified of what they might do to Eldest!

If you haven't read the book it will probably seem like a really good movie, it has some good special effects. If you have read the book prepare yourself to be disappointed, they cut so much from the movie its impossible to make a sequel. My advice is, if you haven't seen the movie, wait until it comes out on dvd.
